I used to want to live in the USA having loved it when I went there on holiday, but I changed my mind when I realised I couldn't bear to leave all the history we have here behind. Yorkshire especially, is full of ancient ruins and vast houses, and Cornwall, of course, has Tintagel.

You are in Wales, I am assuming, Starr? Not all that far from me really. I went there as a child...went to Dylan Thomas' house and saw where he did his writing in the old boathouse. Lovely place. A friend of mine online goes there a lot to Portmeirion as he has a thing about The Prisoner, lol.

Yes, I'm in Wales, lots of nice ruins of castles here, thanks to Edward 1 (not that the Welsh thought so at the time he was building them, of course). I would like to vist and photograph them all one day.
I've never seen Dylan Thomas' boathouse in real life, I've seen it on television, I'd love to visit. I love his poetry.

I love 'A Child's Christmas In Wales'. It always makes me feel so warm to read it...and by God, if I was in Wales, I would be hunting down all the ruins and castles.

Alas! Here in America we don't have much in the way of old ruins, but we do
have plenty of abandoned rail lines. Many are being converted to Rail-Trails.
The Heritage Rail-Trail in York, Pennsylvania, is where I often go to get some
peace and quiet.

I had a special connection to Old Fort Niagra. Not too old, but it was a great place to sleep. A couple of hours of rest there was enough for a year.

I always loved old buildings, be it castles, train stations, libraries, or churches. They have this peaceful, comforting vibe to them, combined with an unassuming presence.

These are of the inside of Winchester Cathedral, not far from me here in England... used to be the capital of England before London. Also has a round table...

I'll be sure to visit those places on my trip to Britain.

You are coming to Britain? When? Make sure to try and visit Cornwall's Tintagel, Glastonbury, Avebury and Yorkshire if you get the time while here, lol.
