I agree.

Because no woman could possibly harm me.

Except for those female ice hockey players. Those girls are scary 8O

Also another thing to point out is that if a man even lays a finger on his gf, people will react negatively. But if a woman hits a man, then it is acceptable because either he must have deserved it or he's so much bigger that it won't hurt him.
Now that's the real mystery. Like in the video. Why is it that a man is always assumed to have already done something wrong or "deserved it" where is women are often assumed to be blameless. I'm not saying that provocation justifies assault... but the lady in the video did.

Zounds, even guys want to take the girl's side.

So this is a double standard? Maybe. Is it the fault of women? It's only half their fault. It's half guys fault too. Why? Because most men (myself included) would be too ashamed to call for help if they were being beaten up by a girl.

Let me ask you guys. Would you call for help if a girl was beating you up? Would you press charges if a had girl hit you? If the answer is no then maybe it's 50% our fault too.

I am 6'3" not at all slight and I know Taekwondo, so most women would have difficulty beating me up, but I would not hesitate to press charges if a woman assaulted me. Such a person needs to be arrested and either receive appropriate psychiatric care or face criminal and civil liability for their actions.

I think it should be moved into the 'Nothing Has Changed Over The Past 30 Years' section.

It's an unfair double standard, based on the false assumption is that women are defenseless, while men are not.

Some people would look at it as okay for a man to hit another man, even if the one doing the hitting is much bigger than the other. They think the smaller man should just "man up" and defend himself. If a man has another man arrested for assault, many would see that as cowardly.

If a man and woman are having a physical fight, it's likely that the man will be seen as "beating" the woman, even if she started it.

If a woman emotionally abuses her husband for years, and he finally explodes one day and hits her, just ONCE, he is the one who will be seen as the abuser.

I don't think this is actually true. This is a rather contentious claim and should be backed up with evidence.

No one should hit anyone, unless you're doing it for self defense.

Another obvious stupid thread.

Can't the moderators delete these?

Maybe not in real life, but I feel like in the media it's more okay to portray women hitting men than vice versa. Like, if a woman slaps a man on TV, people say, "What a tough, feisty woman!" but if a man slaps a woman, they say, "Oh, that's abuse!" I think it's a double standard.

I'm not sure which "this" and which claim you are referring to, as I made more than one statement. In any case, I am not interested in getting into a debate with you.
