I think the people here are more different than from the ones back then and there are more troll problems,but other than that it seems fine.

I guess being too logical I want to understand this in a scientifically falsifiable fashion.

First we must define a date that it was different lets say 2 years ago.

Next we must define trolls, spammer, etc. From a practical point we might have real problems with this.

So we will get a list of all the posts made yestuday and 2 years ago. We will then determine the percent break down of the posts people do not like.

Is the percent difference very great are you merely seeing X times more negative things because the average membership has growth precisely X amount. In that case a
smaller forum site maybe what you may feel most comfortable with.

You know i like that there are allot of different ppl posting now, not like allot of other forums which are dead. It makes it fun and more interesting. Of course it makes more problems, but nothing is perfect.

Even though i only joined last year,it seems a lot different to me,because of all the damned trolls and spammers that begin coming up recently...

I have a theory that message boards tend to attract troubled people, people who have a hole in their lives that they can't fill IRL. So the more members a board has, the more likely it is that there will be more troubled individuals aboard.

I agree the site is not family friendly... the sex talk is not contained to the adult forum and even if it were, what's to stop a kid from clicking on it? But that's the parents' responsibility I guess.

This is a real difficulty. Trolling is often productive. Spamming - I'd say that 80% of what I see would qualify as such - including 98% of my posts. But, these are what seems to be the life of the board - the silly games, the discussions which span threads, the silliness about PSOT and Cat Gods. Hey, it's not for everyone, but there are some threads that remain pretty damned serious, and most people respect these, and leave them alone.


BTW - this post would count as nearly spam in my book - but I don't feel that a full explanation of points is necessary, a major ingredient of spam is the assumed rather than explicit.

Spamming is such a funny word anyway, it always make me think of that pink tinned meat that we had in sandwiches as a child, not too nice but there was always cake afterwards.

Cake ties in with fruitcake, which might be the troubled people that another member mentioned, sorry couldn't remember how to spell your name 'V'

As a veteran of the fields of the internet, countless forums have I seen.


I wouldn't worry too much... This place IS a haven compared to the demented madness I've been exposed to.
