So you just left them behind at your old house?! You did take them to an animal shelter right?
At least they'd have the chance of finding a good home!

The question is a bit silly. What does "better" mean? Two perspectives come to mind, though I'm sure there are very many more.

1) The biological perspective. Biologically, a species can be said to be "better" than another species if it has a better chance to avoid extinction. I would guess that the chance that 1 million years from now there will be living descendants of current cats is considerably greater than the chance there will be living descendants of current humans. Humans are well on their way to be the first ever in the history of life on Earth to cause the extinction of their own species. The human traits that are the cause of this are not present in cats, so unless humans kill all cats before they do themselves in, cats will probably turn out to be the "better" species.

2) My personal perspective. "Better" then simply means "more in accordance with my values". Now, most cats behave more in accordance with my values than most humans. But I've also met some truly obnoxious cats and quite a few perfectly alright humans.

So I must vote "Yes" then, representing a "probably Yes" and a "mostly Yes".

As a fourteen year old, I did not have a lot of autonomy or resources to take the cats anywhere. This tyrant person that my mom was seeing, also liked to beat people with a belt who "talked back". Ah, memories...

Well, cats would only be superior in the human context if they fought a war to conquer us, then turned us all into either zoo animals or house pets. Or worse, make us into slaves and then be forced to mine the caves of Felix cat food. Oh, the smell...

I started this thread due to the other one from a few days ago about whether you would die for your cat. There were people on there saying that humans aren't animals and humans are 'superior' to cats. Therefore I wanted to see how many more lunatics there were on here, and I'm pleased to see more have voted Yes than No. So far.

i wrote the above postt befor i realised ther are 2 more pages to this thread.

and seriously i love pets too but to spend th hole day with your cat wile not generaly not having human contact well i just find that to be sad.

i understand that aspies have problems socialiseing i do to, but a human friend is weay better then any pet can ever be. and just cause something is difficult is no reason to hide away and give up.
