Criticizing a third party helps people bond. It looks ugly to me, but people seem to do it fairly often.

This is true, though I usually feel like I'm the only one shouting and pointing out that the emperor has not clothes... I'm looking at you Beyonce

Is anyone going to call me out for being a pretentious hipster??

I do think I moan about these things on facebook because I do feel a little superiority and like to flaunt it. Look how clever I am, I see the naked emperor.

Nah, I just don't like certain things. Maybe that's all. I do think we all like to stroke our ego a bit though. Facebook is a good outlet for that.

I do try and balance it out with cute animal videos so I don't look too self absorbed.

Hipsters do good stuff when they get serious. Critiquing others plays a large part in the exclusionary aspect of hipsterism. That, I dislike, as a personal choice. I don't dispute its effectiveness, but it feels too easy, like any cheap shot.

Everyone complains. I just can't stand the ones who do and do nothing about it or the ones who complain about everything because nothing is ever good enough or they seem to find things to complain about.
