Terrified that coronavirus is getting worse than better

Do not worry about the virus. There is a huge amount of hype going on. Besides that, there is nothing we can do so worrying about it will not help. Relax!
The news will make a big thing of it where at present the number of deaths worldwide is far smaller statistically then getting killed by a traffic accident.

I'm not worried about myself getting it, I'm more worried about some of the people I love, as I have some elderly relatives, and my boyfriend has COPD and my dad has asthma. I live in a busy area, it's a big surprise that the coronavirus hasn't hit here yet but if or when it does it will probably spread fast.

Wouldn't the vaccine be most usefull if given to the poor working class? I mean, they're the ones most likely to hide the fact that they have the virus (if their symptoms are mild) and go to work because, along with not being able to afford health care, they're likely not able to afford missing work either in the fear of getting kicked out/have their hours cut. From what I've understood, this is legal in America... I read about one woman who was at work due to swine flu back in the day because her boss threatened to fire her if she didn't come to work and she needed the money.

I'm still more concerned about people hoarding stuff. Last time I went shopping I couldn't get some stuff I needed because it was sold out. I'll have to try and get that stuff on Monday and probably try a few more shops.

i've heard some really scary stuff about reinfections happening soon and killing the second time around, how the body doesn't build up immunities, how it hides in your nervous system after "recovery" and attacks your lungs each time.

that would be awful if it were true. no cases confirmed on my island yet but i have been to places where there has been community transmission several times...our medical infrastructure is lackluster for the size, no major hospital, my housemate is ill.

i am young, pretty fit, lungs okay, could be better. i don't want to be worrying - but there is nothing more terrifying to me than not being able to breathe.

It is mostly 60+ and the chronically ill who are at risk Kip, on Israeli news health experts were saying that people of asian descent are particularly vulnerable for some reason.

All I know from the bulk buying of toilet rolls is that some people are going to try and crap the virus out of themselves

What annoys me more than the panicking hoarders are the people who laugh at those who are cautious and treat the virus like an ordinary cold... sure, it's not likely to be all that harmful to those who are young and healthy, but there are plenty of us who are in the risk groups and if a young and healthy person who thinks it's no big deal catches it, he/she could infect some of us and, in the worst case scenario, be partly responsible of our deaths. Even my sister tends to laugh about it and say that people are overreacting, which is easy for her to say since she's healthy, but half of our family are in the risk group, my mom and half sister due to asthma and me due to low immune system.

And no, risk groups isolating themselves is not a solution. Could work for the retired and unemployed, sure, but plenty of us work. Some, like my mom who is a nurse, have jobs that absolutely must be done, so we can't just stop working as a group. Of course, those who have a possibility to work from home should aim for that, but there are plenty of people who can't do that.

I know people who can't afford to become ill with any kind of virus, as they are undergoing treatments for cancer and other health problems. I'm strong and healthy, but can't tolerate any sort of disruption of my life. I absolutely don't need any kind of yucky bug that's going to make me feel like garbage.
