cvirus gets compared to flu virus, because the flu is also a pandemic that spreads the same way and kills the same type of people as cvirus in huge numbers, yet no one ever tried to keep it from killing hundreds of thousands each year, which it has.

Thanks for answering- that makes some sense but I'm still a little confused. Because there is the flu vaccination, which does try to stop it (or strains of it) from killing lots of people. Also, I'm sure I've heard it mentioned that the rate of transmission is far higher than the flu (but I think this is something that differs from country to country depending on how people live and also changes as science discovers more. :?: ) on health.com it says it's much higher. I'm not a scientist or a health professional so I don't really know, but surely if governments could see a way to not have to lockdown they would- what country would want to ruin their own economy?

EDIT: sorry, I've just seen your other posts- my post took ages to send :|

the problem i see with a half quarantine is all the people still using public transportation, all the people in grocery stores and walmart stores and the long lines of cars in drive through. all it takes is one infected person making hundreds of infected burgers. this all started with 1 person that ate an infected bat.

I'll use Ivermectin for protection. Going to look for it! Tests from Australia show promising results.

Sometimes they try too hard when a cure might be under their noses.

Ignore my comment, I'd probably feel pretty gung ho about the virus if I didn't have to look out for someone else.

I hate a mask. It feels like I can't breathe properly. I like to breathe freely. I'd get a gorilla or Halloween mask if I could find one!

My friend wants me to wear one but I hate things over my nose.

I'd wear a Darth Vader helmet & paint myself orange as a political statement.

It seems like everyday there's new information about this virus that contradicts some previous information
1st~ I heard masks were good.
2nd~ I heard masks were bad.
3rd~ I heard masks prevented people from spreading the virus but did not prevent people from catching the virus.
4th~ I hear masks are essential to prevent spreading & catching the virus.

Donald Trump is the only thing more inconsistent than that.

You summed it up well. Even given that it's a new thing they're studying, you'd think they would have better information but seems the medical and science world can never agree on anything, despite the fact you'd think it would ne a somewhat more exact science.

Funny thing about science: it's self-correcting, unlike politics, religion, superstition, and conspiracy theories.

THAT is why it seems inconsistent right now -- different people working with different data sets (which themselves were collected differently) will reach different conclusions.  Only in politics, religion, superstition, and conspiracy theories do lies pile on top of lies, and become doctrine and dogma of isolated belief sets.

Besides, whom would you rather believe: An appropriately-trained virologist or an orange-skinned megalomaniac?

I'll go with the scientists, thanks. At least they have studied their field, unlike a layman recommending all sorts of strange possible remedies, as your president's been doing.

Then it's not far removed from military activities -- every grunt in the field believes that he or she has the best insight as to how the war should be fought.  Keep in mind that just as the average grunt is not a general who has graduated from the War College, so too are most orderlies, nurses and doctors not specialists in virology.

Someone always has to be on the front lines doing the shooting while the generals deploy to the rear echelons and call the shots.  Those orderlies, nurses, and doctors might do better to focus on their work, and not try to second-guess the virologists.
