I currently have a personal journal, which I've been writing in since 2002, when I was eleven years old. My latest entry in it was earlier this month.

It's very fascinating for me to look back on a bunch of things I wrote during my latter elementary school years, my early teen years, and my high school years. I plan on continuing to write in it, and I'd like to keep it with me as well. Imagine how fascinating it would be to be a full-grown adult and still have a record of things you wrote from elementary school through college all in one book.

Yeah, like I would want written evidence that could be used against me...

I had a diary some years ago and it helped me to learn writing story-like. When I began, I had a "list" style, something like:
1. woke; too late again -> missed first lesson
2. hate school
3. gonna be happy
IF
it's well done
4. ONLY!
5. ok, I want to have any friend -> who? -> think!
6. my cousin came at 6:03 pm, left at 7:23 pm -> I can't stand his smell
7. gonna go to bed earlier
8. fail again -> wrong!

Later I gave up writing, because I became a better writer. More later I wanted to keep a diary again, so in 2003 I bought Kurt Cobain's diaries to learn how a real diary looks. And I had my diary for about 1,5 year and then my Mom found it and I was punished. I tried to write in English, but it wasn't the same again. So I gave up and now I don't want to have a diary. If ever I want, I'll keep in my childish list style.

Why were you punished, did you write something negative about her?

About everything and everyone, it was my little Hatebook. I was really stressed in High School.

I do, but it's hard to remember to write in it everyday. The notebook that i'm using is an old record book from the 1960s, so it's kind of 'unique.' 8)

I have kept a daily diary for years--have written more than 5000 pages. I still want to write out my thoughts, but I am having a very hard time lately for some reason I do not know in handwriting out my thoughts. Nothing comes out the way I have it in my head, so I have grown frustrated, and rarely write anymore. I can type better than write, but I just have it in my head, that it is just not the same as a handwritten journal, so I have stubbornly given it all up.

No, I don't. I never have, and I've never even really considered it. I have, however, started my own blog on the internet a few months back. I wouldn't exactly consider it a diary though.

I've tried...but I'm not that good at keeping one.....

I'll tell my attempts:

My best was when I was 8 and kept it for a year
*12- 1 week: journal
*15 - a few days: journal
*16- a month or two: online journal/blog thing that came with my email
*17- a blog every once in a random while
*I have a 3rd fb that I post on randomly that I am not friends with anyone and I post on there sometimes.

I bought a diary not long ago intending to write in it frequently. There's something classical about a diary as opposed to unloading your life into cyberspace. Only wrote in it once though. :?
