In the US its almost always a "Public Service Announcement". Which is a "non commercial commercial" aired on TV or radio as a public service.

I thought FFS was short for "Psychological Sexual Abuse", but what do I know?

I thought it meant things like kissing in public. People will often say "PSA is not allowed here". I think it stands for Public Signs of Affection.

You're thinking of PDA; Public Display of Affection.

PSA = Public Service Announcement. People use the acronym when they're sharing tips/tricks or info about a sale or safety etc - things that could be of service to the public.

Which is the correct answer in this thread as MG started this thread due to me using "PSA" in another thread.

The railway term is the one that I think of though, as we all know and think of railway terms when we see them in use.

If it gets people posting without arguing, it is a good thread.

The difference between "satire" and "sarcasm" is the INTENTION.
I am rarely sarcastic, and when I am, I use <sarcasm>

What some ppl don't understand is that "me strong like bull" emotionally, and that means I rarely engage in emotionalistic "sarcasm" with the intention of inflicting psychological/emotional pain/discomfort. ;)

No problem, bro.
You are one of my favourite ppl, period.

Off-topic:

BTW, I never use "((( )))".
On another website I was on, it was forbidden because it was considered anti-semitic.
