is it true in america that some bricks are labeled "this is a brick, it weighs this much and if you drop it on your foot it will hurt."?

My dad told me about it, when i asked about this practice in some workplaces when you have to label absolutely everything. (doesn't happen here as far as i know)

We have a sign on a street light post about a block or 2 up from my house... it says:

"Do not put signs on this post. Any person caught doing so may be charged a $500 fine."

Let's just remove all warning labels and let things take care of themselves.
Hopefully, all the stupid people will saw off their genitals trying to stop chainsaws, or eat peanuts when they're allergic, or use Viagra to protect themselves from STDs...
