I think they're all fascinating in their own way.I have a soft spot for the Sumerians
and Assyrians because I don't think they get the recognition they deserve.I'll have to
vote for the Romans because their influence is still ominipresent today,especially
considering their language of Latin is such an important part of not only the 'Latin'
languages like Italian,Spanish and French but of English itself.

Their technology level was ancient, but their place in time was medieval through renaissance so I didn't think they'd fit. I did think of placing them, but they are out of the timescale. Sorry.

I always loved learning about ancient Greece at school, and lapped up stuff about their myths and legends (and the poems of Homer, too). I still think they were the best ancient civilisation...

Egypt and ancient Romans, I don't know that much about the others. I like Egypt more, I think, their culture was more exotic.

Assyria/Babylon partially because they were the first " ancient " civilization that I had heard of. Also to try and see if the walls of Babylon were as impressive as records say they were. * probably not, but it would be nice to see *

I don't know if human sacrifice can be described as cool but these cultures where not devoid of knowledge, that's for sure.

Right now I am most interested in the vikings and early medieval England. Went through ancient Greek, ancient Rome, Mayan, and feudal Japan one after the other in highschool. Was fascinated by medieval Europe in general before that and Native Americans. And recently was fascinated by ancient Egypt.

Couldn't tell you crap about any leaders, emperors, or kings. I just care about how the average Joe lived, the over all culture, customs, and beliefs of the people. Especially family life.
