I misspell because a) I'm a clumsy typer. (My finger(s) tends to fall on the wrong key and in the wrong order)

And

B ) I can't spell.. Perhaps I'm trying to spell phonetically... or just go by looks of the word.

C) Undiagnosed dyslexia

Although I tend to mask this by using ms word's spell-check. Unfortunately it doesn't catch everything...

If I misspell my article, it's because I'm a little ADD at the moment. I just post it without checking the spelling.

For the most part I am a stickler for correct spelling always. It's easier for people to understand you if you just learn to speak and spell properly.

Oh! Look - pretty butterflies!

This site isn’t half as bad as other sites I’ve been to where I spend a good portion of my time trying to decipher txt spk.

“LOL! U R rly werd. Srsly.”

Huh?!

It’s ‘whether’ not ‘weather’! When are people going to catch on to that? Eh?!

“I don’t know weather I’m going or not.”

Wait, what?! Alrighty… I guess homonyms are a mystery to some. Ah no, there's only one universal spelling for that word. Knot.

I hate text-speak, as I call it, 'Net-Speak.' I use 'LOL' every now and then, but that's about it. Net-speak reminds me of Orwell's 'New-Speak' and 'Double-think,' and it's going to be the death of the English language as we know it. Sad day, too. One day we will all think in hypertext shorthand, or else we won't think at all.

I dont get why people are so caught up in spelling every single word right. If other people can understand what you're trying to say it should be as big a deal. I didnt even have spell check up until a few months ago and i still forget to use it, it also doesnt catch every word, it wouldnt catch the weather/whether thing.

I thought i already posted this 8O

Now that I make my sentences shorter than before, I can phrase my answers so much faster. It's fun to answer now. And also, it's relaxing not to get distracted in the middle of writing a sentence and then not know how to continue when I overcame the distraction.

I've finally come the conclusion that the more I write, the more complicated my writing becomes. That's why people usually oversee my answers. They're too long. Many people don't bother to read them.

On the downside, I frequently misspell words now.

It annoys myself, because I hate seeing my own spelling mistakes. I don't mind it if others don't get a word right. But in me, just seeing myself writing 'rubbish', is quite irritating. I want to get spellings perfect. Even when I do not know how to spell a word and ought to leave it as that, I can rarely let go of the worry that I misspelled something.

WP is actually a lot better about it than most of the other forums I've been to. GaiaOnline is a prime example.

I've always been a poor speller and I don't remember the difference between a noun and nun, but on a site like this the most important thing is for people to be able to express themselves and communicate with others. I've taken writing classes and some of the "grammer nazis" can really inhibit the free expression of ideas. I say let everyone spell and use proper grammar at their own level without fear of correction.

I have to use spellcheck on everything I write.

Some people just don’t have a good memory for words. With me it's the lack of consistency in the English language. Any given vowel can have practically any vowel sound depending on the word. I have trouble rote memorizing things that have no rhyme or reason. Those kinds of things go out of my head as fast as they go in.

That said, lazy people who misspell words to the point where it’s unreadable are grating to me. I can't stand "text speak" writing. I don’t see too many people like that on this forum though.

It's no ruder than assuming that the "choice" spelling mistakes don't make it very difficult for some of us to read the posts. And it's his choice to express his opinion, as you're expressing yours.

I have a fairly hard time trying to read posts with tons of spelling errors. I stop at each one I see and analyze it for awhile; invariably, I then forget what the post was about anyway.

I care about my spelling very much but I still mispell words. I have spell checker on my boyfriend's computer and when I use my uncle's, I copy and paste in MC and it finds all the misspellings. I do type fast so I mispell. But if I have a few mispell words in my post and someone is bothered by it, it's their problem, not mine. I'm not perfect, sheesh. I'm not writing a book or typing an article. I'm posting on forums. Big difference.

Also some people have dyslexia so spelling is harder for them. That's why I don't judge people for their spelling.
