I'd like to know how you can match the colors if you can't see them.

I maybe got one side solved, but it's been years since I tried to solve a Rubik's cube. Now, I'd probably use the book next time.

I have a thing about not being able to allow them to remain sitting around unsolved >.<. Started a few years back when I was given one as a gift. I'm not incredibly fast at solving them, but yeah I have solved them.

I also know how to dismantle them if I give up on trying to solve them XD. All you have to do is turn the top layer half way, then pry out the center edge cube with something, (or maybe it was the corner cube.. XD) and after that it just comes apart and is easy to put back together. It's really cool to see the mechanism on the inside for the first time too.

Oh, and that one person who can solve them blindfolded probably studys the cube before putting the blindfold on, so they know which moves to make beforehand.

I don't. :S it's hard to explain, but I don't know what the colors are until I fix it. Obviously, if I want to do this, then I have to be the one that mixed it up, but when I do, I don't know what colors are together, I just know which squares go together :D I can solve it blindfolded if someone else scrambles it, but I have to see the colors in order to memorize them.

ooo, one time, I went too fast and it exploded O_O

Just curious. I was able to solve a Rubik's 3x3 when I was a kid but I forgot the trick to it over 20 years' time. I know there's a certain method to the 3x3 but I can't recall for the life of me what it is.

Learnt them from Cube Station.

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for! I googled Rubik's cube solutions but all I kept getting were sites where you had to type in what the cube looked like in order to solve it, and I'm too lazy to enter in all the colors.

I always wanted to have a Rubik box. I bought it yesterday and I couldn't do it so far, of course. But it's a cool exercise for my brain :D

Btw... Wouldn't you like to try to deal with Lemarchand's box instead?

A turn of the cube topic

My oldest NT daughter could solve one side, when the game first came out in the early 80s.

I once watched a video that showed a ten year old from Hong Kong solve the thing in about twenty seconds.

Some people are gifted. (sigh). :?

 I heard about Cenobites for the first time several years ago when I read some article in "Fantasy" magazine about this series when I was in high school. To tell the truth I never had occasion to watch those films, my all knowledge is limited to Hellbound Heart (the story is a bit too short but I liked it - Frank's experience when the Cenobites arrived resembles a really bad case of sensory issues :?) and one comic based on it (but in Spanish so I couldn't understand anything  ). I'd like to see the movies.

I use the same method as on the rubik's site, but with a few extra algorithms for speed, and a completely different notation, that is a lot easier to remember. I average about 1 minute for the 3x3x3. I even started putting together a web page on my method (has pictures for the first 2 layers, and algorithms for the last that if used on a solved cube will show what they do).

Aspie or not, my ADD denies me prolonged interest in puzzles and things with no point. So we're talking, a few minutes before I give up.

I was in year 7 when they first came out in Australia (1981) and quickly learnt how to solve it. I remember there was a kid in year 12 who had his own method. The school had a competition and I came second out of the four kids who took the stage. I still do the cube once every few months, just to check that I can still solve it ! !

Ya. My best time is a little over 2 minutes. Thats using the beginers method with a cheap cube.
