Eew, no!
See, I grew up with a mother who was obsessed with looks. She wanted me to be thin, immaculately groomed, spend hours on my hair, and have a well-scrubbed English rose complexion. I'm big like my dad, have olive skin from the Italians way back in the family, and can think of a hundred places I'd rather be than in front of a mirror.
I do the hygiene stuff - showering, deodorant, teeth and so forth. I have my hair dyed red and cut in a wash-it-and-leave-it style. I wear eyeliner and lippy when I feel like it. And when I want to, which is not that often, I do dress up. But, I prefer the freedom of it being optional. I'm sitting here barefaced in ripped jeans and an old guy's singlet - from a thrift store, like most of my clothes, because I despise the idea of wearing the same as everyone else just because some stupid magazine says so.
Re shirts, Social_Fantom, I have one that says 'Buy nothing, you are OK as you are'. I like to walk through store cosmetic departments in it wondering when they'll throw me out...
