I`m just blown away at the amount of time people
use their shoes, i see years mentioned 8O I switch
around every 3 months, i just cant begin to imagine
how much filth are incrusted in shoes that has been
worne for that long 8O Thats more like you`re
wearing dirt with a little shoe on it. Walking in the
streets, theres piss, spit, fecees and every other
thing imaginebal and its on your shoes. I sometimes
feel like getting a fresh pair after walking into a really
filthy public restroom, you`re standing in piss and then
you continue to walk around in it, brining it home and
stuff 8O

One thing i will never understand, people who run around
in their shoes all day, and then they run home and run
around inside with the same shoes 8O what the hell is
that? i dont even get how it can happen. "well, i`ve been
walking in alot of crap today, its on my shoes now, and now
i think i`ll just spread it around my livingroom and bedroom" 8O
When you enter my house, you first come into a little room
where all shoes come off. If not, you dont get past that room :)
Thats the "going from the outside to the inside" room and no shoes
or s**t gets passed it. No one walks into this house with shoes on,
thats for damn sure :) And if your socks are very filthy, i will
bring you a new, fresh pair and ask if you want to change, my
treat, new socks. Not that i check peoples socks, but if i for example
happen to see someone wearing white socks that are covered in
grime and streaks of dirt, then i have had enough and bring out the guest
socks, its my floors their stepping on and i dont need their s**t, they
can spread that in their own home all they want but not at my place.
I run a clean house and i`m proud of it :D i like to be clean and
fresh and i like to have it nice around me where i live. When i work
outside in the dirt its really nice to come into a clean house and shower :D

What a waste.

You're not going to get more and more dirt on them. They'll get dirty and they'll stay dirty. They're not going to build up dirt over the years so that they're not safe to be in the same room as!

Waste..? 8O if being clean is a waste then i`m a
huge waste :) And i use them hard, after
three months the soles are thinnner and
they are usually not comfortable anymore,
worn out, so of course i get new ones.

I`m sorry, but i dont walk around in filthy smelly shoes.
And i have a feeling some people belive their shoes
dont stink because they dont smell it themselfes,
think again! 8O others smell it fine and its :eew:
Once they are dirty i switch. I`m not saying its
not safe to be in the same room as filthy shoes,
i`m saying i i see no reason to walk around in
them. Everything falls down on the ground
eventually and we step in it and it get onto our
shoes. People want to wear filth, fine with me
but i dont and you dont get into my house
wearing that.

""You're not going to get more and more dirt on them""

Might be, but i`m on the planet earth and here they do.
You cannot tell me you belive that your shoes get
dirty and then they dont get anymore dirty? If so,
please stay a long way away from my house, because
thats the freakiest thing i`ve heard in two weeks 8O
The longer you use something without washing it, the
dirtyer it gets, especially shoes, pretty obvious.
Not trying to argue, i just dont see at all how you
can belive such a thing.

I`ll say it like this, theres just no way in hell that a pair
of shoes that has been used regularly and are a year
or two old wont smell. It`s impossible, plain and simple,
no mattter who you are or how little you think your feet
sweat. They will be smelly to others, end of story.

...cant belive i`m actually "arguing" about wearing clean
shoes  I mean, its just so....obvius, of course i want
to have clean footwear on my feet, why anyone wouldn`t
want to have that is beyond me i`m afraid. I dont put on
dirty clothes, and shoes are a part of that.

There is something mystical about shoes. Where i live you will often see shoes lying on the side of the street and when i was younger and got locked up or whatever i did i always have no shoes. I say can i have my shoes please and they only give me one or i could only ever find one so I would buy a pair every week and then once we had some friends stay over and they all crashed on the floor and i kept trying to take this guys shoes off excpet i was just pulling his leg or ankle instead and my friend said stop it or or he wake up and punch you in the face but i didnt stop it. Maybe that is my aspie obsession, shoes.
I remember once this guy sat next to me and he said you can tell alot about a person by thier shoes and i had reebok runners on.
Then a other time when i was a school gilr and had just plain black lace up's on. They was smoking pot and i always was always very quiet and he reckoned that i was a cop because of my shoes.

there is no dirt "in" my shoes. the surface of the outside is discolored.
i realize that for people with sweaty feet, that the pic may conjure up a notion of "stinking moist bacteria traps"
my feet never sweat because i have few sweat glands. on the hottest days, my socks are always dry and my feet do not smell.
i know a person who wears runners that he got 2 years ago, and his feet smell like decomposing cabbage. he describes that his socks are wet and greazy in his shoes.
his shoes would have an infusion of sweat and dirt in their fibres that would look frightening on a microscopic scale.
i am keen to dispel that idea about my shoes. even if i put them to my nose, they have no smell. (others agree so it is not just a matter of me not smelling me).

yes that is true. but it is true also for a 1 day old pair of shoes that have walked around for a day.
you say you get new shoes every 3 months, but there is no dirt on my shoes from 3 months ago. i do not walk through mud, so the dirt from the world on my shoes is only on the soles. that gets rubbed off in say a day or 2.
old clean shoes do not get dirtier quicker than new clean ones.

as well, there is no piss or fecal matter on our streets, but i do understand that it is not a clean surface. i avoid stepping in those chewing gum black flat splotches because they are so gross.
chewing gum is seriously unhygienic.
i know that although the pavement seems clean, there may have been someone vomit there in the past.

i do not use restrooms in those shoes. i only go to restrooms when i am out for a long time, and i wear better shoes than these when i am at work or at the tavern for dinner where i may have to use restrooms).

well no one walks on my carpet without their shoes on.
i would gag at the thought of the sweat from their feet soaking into my carpet.
i prefer relatively sterile rubber soles to the stinking soles of some feet that may spread those things like...whatever those feet infections are (athletes foot? etc)

i would also refuse to stand on someones elses carpet without my shoes on because i do not know what has been on that carpet.

i never walk anywhere without shoes except for my home (where i allow no one else (except tammy)) to be without shoes.

do you have OCD? do you ask them to put their old socks in a plastic bag and take them with them?
i would never enter your house without the safety of my shoes. my socks are always clean.
i clean them regularly because i like the fresh feeling of the terry towelling in them after they are washed.
the fibres in the terry toweling get pressed flat after a day, so the sock is put out to be washed again. not because it smells or is wet or dirty, but because the fibres need to be revived.

i do not have a dirty house.

i will not take my pic away, because if i did, then later readers will know i am the one you are talking about because my post will say "deleted" and no one else refers to "years". then they may imagine some mouldy fungus infested shoes with shitake mushrooms and alfalfa growing from them.

i do shower as well everyday before bed, and it is interesting that your descriptive avenue led from the mention of "years of age of my shoes" (about me) to the subject of having a dirty house and not showering.

but if everyone wants my pic removed because they also find it offensive, then i will.
i am not here to gross people out.
i expect a howl of people saying "yes remove your pic!! it makes me sick!"
i will oblige if that happens.

but the dirt on my shoes is ingrained grass dust from mowing my lawns occasionally in them, not a greasy sweaty sludge.

whatever, i suppose i can not well argue for those dirty shoes as they should be replaced, but they are so comfortable and the velcro straps are ideal, and they do not make them any more.

Damn...i could have sworne i read more posts that had shoes
for several years, so i wasn`t talking about your shoes. I was
just talking about all those people who wear the same shoes for
a long time, i know theres alot of them, i have met alot of them.
So i`m sorry it looked like i was taking a piss at your shoes :)
my bad. And i`m not sure how i got from shoes to house and
being clean, i just trailed off talking about how i do it, not much
more.

The sock-thing, it does sound like i look people over when they
enter, but i dont do that. Its in extreme cases, rarely happens
and its almost always white socks that has been worne outside
without shoes or something, if you get the picture. Seriously
dirty. Then i say stop. But i dont ask people to change or
anything without a very good reason. I live in the countryside
and spend my days wearing coveralls and working in dirt
often, its what people do here, so things get really dirty.

Anyway, the shoe thing is getting out of hand, i wrote too much
in a way - i`ll try to simplify it a little.

- I buy a new pair of shoes.

- 2-3 months later they are dirty and the soles
are starting to get worne.

- So then i buy a new pair of shoes and throw the old ones away.

- 2-3 months later they are dirty.....

......and so on.

Not much more to it. Some might have alot less wear
on their shoes then i do also. And i just like to have
clean clothes, nothing wrong with that. (shoes/clothes,
same thing to me.)

Oh, the carpet thing, you`re right, carpets are usually
filthy as hell. So, i have hardwood floors. Have a few
small rooms that carpeted and i rent a machine and
clean them around every 6 months, but they will be
replaced by hardwood some time soon. And the foot
sweat, we`re people and we sweat, fine with me, i`ll
take a little of that on my floor over whats under your/
mine/anyones shoes any day of the week because
thats more then sweat, thats a mix of everyting you
have stepped in, from dog s**t to plain old mud
with spit in it.

Dont think about it, i wrote to much
and trailed off.

One thing hit me, here in scandinavia its common
to remove your shoes when you enter someones
home. But, in for ex. 8 out of 10 show from the US
i see on tv for example, theres shoes everywhere,
all the time - so guess it can be a cultural thing - its
not just me anyway here i live :) if i walked into
someones house with shoes they would give me a
"what the hell are you doing?"-look most of the times.
Theres also some schools and public buildings that
you sometimes remove your shoes before entering.
And in the winter its no wonder, you really dont want
to pull all that wet dirty crap inside everytime you walk in
and out.

Haha, I actually made a video of my shoes...

They're my wonderful Yellow Hunter Wellington Rainboots!
Splashing in puddles is what I use them for!
