I had 3 demi dreams- first one was I had to pee into a large metal ashtray atop an old fashioned metal and stone tower platform like what one used to see in public places several decades back. after filling it up, I carried the whole thing into the nearest bathroom to dump it into the toilet. my brother was watching me with a spock-like raised eyebrow. then I dreamt I was in a room full of gold, with two other civil servants [all of whom, including me, were dressed in identical poplin khaki] whose job was to measure and weigh all the gold. it gleamed like, well, gold. then I dreamt I was in the army again and I was late for work, in my parents' house incongruously, struggling to get my clothes on rightwards and not backwards, but everything was in slow motion and took tremendous effort.

I remember you dreaming about gold before, some balls of it coming toward you or something.

I had a bunch of crazy dreams and remembered some of them when I woke up. SHould have written them all down, they're gone now.

It's funny, I can understand how we can forget them before we wake up, but you'd think once we woke up and remembered them, they wouldn't fly like that.

you have an EXCELLENT memory :wtg: the dreams we initially remember upon waking, must be transferred from short of medium-term memory into long term memory, and an effective way to do this is by ruminating upon them and then writing them down. if we don't do this, then the next environmental stimulus will wipe the dreams away for good. in terms of dream recall it is "use it or lose it." so the next time you remember a dream upon waking, ruminate upon it immediately and for at least several minutes while you are gathering yourself to get up. then write it down before you do anything else. then read what you have written down and check it for completeness, which means ruminating some more about the dream.

I had a horrible dream last night. In my dream I was awake in bed with a blanket completely covering me. Then I heard someone come into the room (trying to steal something or to kill me?). I tried not to move, hoping he would go away if he thought I was asleep. Then a big sweaty hand came inside the blanket to strangle me. I woke up with my heart beating hard and fast. It was frightening.

:o 8O :o :skull: what an AWFUL nightmare! generally when we dream we're getting strangled, it refers to waking feelings of being denied free expression in some way.

I had a dream just recently about being haunted by Herobrine... also I still remember one dream from years ago that had something to do with piranha attacking this guy who was trying to hide from someone who he thought was a creepy stranger who actually turned out to be his long lost sister. I have weird dreams every night.

Piranha
To see piranhas in your dream suggest that something is eating away at your subconscious. You need to release some of those pent up feelings and confront those issues that are causing much internal conflict.
Sister
To see your sister in your dream symbolizes some aspect of your relationship with her, whether it one of sibling rivalry, nurturance, protectiveness, etc. Your sister may draw attention to your family role. Or the dream may also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has characteristics similar to your sister. Alternatively, your sister may be a metaphor for a nun. In this case, she may represent some spiritual issues. If you do not have a sister and dream that you have one, then it signifies feminine qualities that you need to activate or acknowledge within your own self. Pay attention to the actions and behavior of your dream sister.
Stranger
To see a stranger in your dream signifies a part of yourself that is repressed and hidden. Alternatively, it symbolizes the archetypal dream helper who is offering you insight and advice. To dream that a stranger is pretending to be someone you know means that this person who you know is not who you thought they were. To dream that you are inside a stranger's house indicates that there is something that you have yet to discover about yourself. It may mean that there are repressed memories, fears or emotions that you are not confronting.
Hiding
To dream that you are hiding suggests that you are keeping some secret or withholding some information. You may not be facing up to a situation or dealing with some issue. However, you may be getting ready to reveal something and confess before somebody finds out. In particular, to dream that you are hiding from some authority figure (police, parent, teacher...) implies feelings of guilt. To dream that someone is hiding indicates that you are looking for a sense of security and protection.

I had nightmares all night long, about being back in the army for the third time [previous nightmares had me back in the army 2 decades after getting out the first time, so this nightmare was worse]. I was totally out of place amongst all these recruits, this old man with his hippie-length hair and bearing, surrounded by youngsters with butch haircuts and the same drill sergeants [who hardly noticed me] I had back in the day, they hadn't aged at all! I was struggling to get my act together when, towards the end of the dream, I was thinking to myself, I joined the second and third times because I was having financial difficulties, the second time hadn't fattened up my finances enough but I thought this trouble just isn't worth joining the damned army yet again! so I packed up my stuff, and with fellow WP member "ImAnAspie" we both walked away and to the airport to go back home before I left, I looked at myself in the mirror [very rare occurrence in my dreams] and I saw somebody totally different- my hair was magically butch-length but I was deeply tanned and looked like a greek young man, with thick black hair, piercing black eyes and sharp features, very handsome- in fact I wished I looked more like that in real waking life! I had facial hair that, although shaved closely, was so dense that it looked like I still had a 5 o'clock shadow. but in the dream I admired my reflection for a bit before leaving. strange, no? :ninja:

the way to remember more of your dreams, is to [upon first becoming aware that one has been dreaming] to repeatedly replay the dream in your awakening head as much and deeply as you can, for at least 5 minutes, then as soon as you are able, to get up and jot it down on paper. that is how I do mine. the act of replaying the dreams in your head forces them into long-term memory.

I had two down and then I feel asleep again and had another one, lost the first two and the third one is pretty foggy at this point because instead of focusing on it I tried to remember the first two.

oft-times you will have to sacrifice the partially remembered one over the more completely remembered one. or you could try to dredge up more details about the partially remembered one at some sacrifice to the ordinarily more well remembered one, one can only cram so much into short and medium-term memory. if your dreams are relatively simple like mine it should be practiceable. the key is repetition.

This girl that I have a crush on who lives halfway across the country randomly showed up in my neighborhood for a visit so we just hung out for a while. As conversation went on it eventually led to her pinning me against the wall with her body despite her being shorter than I am and kissing me for several seconds. Tongue might have been involved.

Certain studies have shown that as soon as one wakes up from a dream, remaining perfectly still for a couple minutes helps one better retain memory of the dream as the person is in the exact same position as they were when they were in the dream. I've followed that and it's helped me out numerous times since.
