Anxiety

Sad to see our local hardware shop has closed down after all these years

I was hoping they might have had at least one bag of compost left over from the closing down sale

Not even so much as a sniff

I didn't sleep at all last night until 6am and then woke up at 2pm

Of course lack of meds was to blame, but I don't understand how I made it that long without realizing what the problem was

I was called rude today and I felt like a tri-coloured monster, so I self-medicated with coffee and 4 packets of Emergen-C

I just wish I could keep my foot on the ground for more than 2 minutes without the pain becoming unbearable. I can deal with the hip, knee and ankle subluxation from immobility and inactivity, and the post surgical swelling and bruising is mostly gone. The incisions will be healed soon but I'm still a victim of gravity.
I just want to be able to drive the auto and have a day away from Psycho dragon-cow and the groundhog day lady.

I tried to make homemade sponge toffee today for the second time. I used a candy thermometer and it didn't even reach 300 F before burning and filling the kitchen with smoke. It was a disaster. When the candy mixture cooled enough I dumped most of it out and it will take me a while to clean out the pot.

I don't think I will try making it again. It's just too dangerous, especially if you're making it alone.

If that was straight sugar I think a new thermometer is in order.

Despite previous claims to the contrary, my uncle isn't coming to my aunt's birthday party because he has a "daddy daughter dance" with my 13yo cousin. Which is not only deeply gross, cruel to kids who don't have fathers, and invites a reply of why the hell didn't you check your schedule before rsvping, but also my cousin would rather go to the party but my uncle is forcing her to go to the dance instead.

Just regular family drama, I know. But I'm gonna have a hard time not voicing my anger about this the next time I see them.
