I am wondering if MONKEY's name comes from the 70's TV Show of the same name?

Yes, I have watched some episodes of Monkey too.

Although Monkey in the series Monkey itself isn't a monkey either, it's a Japanese dude with goofy teeth and side burns. :wink:

That's because gorillas apes, and apes and monkeys are all primates so they look kind of similar, there is more info on that a few pages back.
