You're supposed to be able to sleep in on vacation but it's not much of a vacation if you don't do anything but sleep

I hear you man

Why are a lot of things I wanted tend to take 10 years??

Like; basically during my worst years I wish there was an online class so I can just graduate quicker.

Instead, it was granted in a form of a pandemic. 10 years too late. AND IT TOOK A GLOBAL PHENOMENON??

When I wanted to start playing catch up, it took 10 years.
Not because of constant practice (ha, I wish) but an abrupt stop of internal disruptors that I wish I have an "earplugs version of interception" -- that no  no amount of "desensitizating" will get me used to sneezing several hours a day. F*** anyone who says that.

No, I am not fricking numb like you to be able to ignore signs of untreated chronic illness and maltreatment. Took 10 years late. AND IT WAS FROM A COINCIDENCE.

How about my chronic headache since 12 or so, no thanks to that stupid tooth that chipped off at 4th grade?
It took 10 years to cure it. By being taken out by a dentist. One that's ALSO UNPLANNED.

How about wanting to just get over what led to my worst years of being bullied?
Again, it took 10 years! Not by therapy, not by self work, not by rebuilding myself back -- but by spontaneous spiritual awakening.

Oh? Apparently I was already diagnosable before age 5.
Guess when I had an official autism diagnosis? :skull:

Yeahhhhh -- good things happen to those who fricking wait, alright.
In my case, apparently, by being 10 years too late.

I won't be surprised if some incurable disease might kill me when untreated for who knows what amount of time -- and it'll take 10 years to make it AND find it's way for me to ever feasibly get said cure.

Doesn't matter if it's too late for me to recover well from it, or if I'm already dead. It will fricking take 10 years.

Yeah 10 years can seem like an eternity when you need to move forward with your life
Keep fighting Edna

I'm incapable of trust, so every single tic of the day is unpredictable.

The breakfast making was a shambles. I got there but it wasn't much fun. Forgot I'd run out of bread, so I had to use some gluten-free bread, and that toasts a lot faster than my usual home-made wholemeal bread. The change to my otherwise rigid, repeatable routine confused me and I ended up putting the eggs into the frying pan before it was as hot as usual. Everything went out of synch and I had to think on the hoof instead of working like a programmed robot.

The result was edible but not as tasty as I've come to expect. And the cheese was just sharp cheddar instead of extra sharp because Wal-Mart had let me down and run out of the proper stuff. So that added to the blandness of the result. If only my memory and executive function worked a bit better I'd have baked a loaf yesterday and got the cheese a while ago before they sold out.

Had to abandon a planned visit to a music venue where I was going to perform a couple of songs. :(

My chauffeur wasn't too well, and the weather forecast suggested there might be hailstones, heavy rain, and maybe a tornado. Of course there wasn't, like there never is when you've gone to the inconvenience of taking all the right precautions. We damn nearly went for it, but we dawdled before setting off, and it was getting a bit late, so I was starting to anticipate a rush job setting up for the show when I got there, so I said "shall we scrub it?" and received an answer in the affirmative. It was probably a wise decision, but wisdom hurts sometimes. Oh well, at least I had a relatively stress-free evening watching the telly.

Same! I haven't woken up feeling refreshed in soooooooo long. I'm thinking years. It's more like a break from being awake and getting rid of that pre-delirous disconnection that comes from being awake too long, than refreshing and restful sleep. My new trick is to muscle through the first part of the morning that drags by fighting through it until I can get something rewarding like going to the bathroom, tea, and some memes. Eventually, I make to the part of the day when my salient emotion is not "I'm so tired of poor sleep".

I had a horrible nightmare and I woke up to find that the pea pads on my bed have shifted.

Almost everything. First I slept through an important appointment. Then I had to run to the store in the middle of making breakfast and my half-made breakfast got cold. Then on the way back the piece of s**t elevators wouldn't respond when I pressed the button for my floor so I rode all over the building until I finally got there. Then my laptop spent 10 minutes circling when I tried to turn it on and finally made me reset my pin, except it sent a confirmation code to my dad's email for some reason.
