Yes, there has been times where I've seen the world in a manner of utmost beauty prior to modernity and technology which has destroyed a great deal and continues to do so..

What do you foresee for the world in let's say 1,000 years or so?

Flying cars. Nobody has a job because manual labor has been replaced by robots. Possibly being able to store your entire memory on something similar to an SD card. If that sounds good to you, bear in mind that the government has access to it. I imagine mind control might even be possible by then, and maybe even some kind of technology-based form of telepathy. Every form of technology that could possibly exist probably will by then. Satellite imagery like Google Earth will be more advanced, and live to. As a result, there probably won't be any privacy as anyone can sit at their home computer or tap on their tablets and see exactly what you're doing at that very moment.
I could come up with a lot more, but I'd be here all day. I can imagine a lot of things will happen in that huge span of time. If advancements in technology continue on the same trajectory it's been on, there's no telling what will happen. So much has happened in just the last 200 years, it's mind boggling to think about the next 1,000.
Another possibility we can't ignore is an apocalypse. It's always a possibility that something may cause life on Earth to cease to exist as we currently know it.

Any more thoughts on the previous question?

May things could happen over the next 1000 years some good, some bad though there is no specific manner in which we know how our society winds up unless we ourselves make the future we would like to have.

What has been the major stumbling block to society progressing through the ages in terms of centuries?

Prejudice. As some are simply content to hate, even in this damned era.

Would you rather ride a train, or an airplane, or a ship?

Airplane as I've never been on one before and like the idea of being able to see the world from thousands of feet above. Plus, trains are too slow, and I don't like the idea of being stranded in the middle of the sea, in the event that such a thing would happen.

Same question.

I never skipped a grade but I took AP courses in High school. I was fortunate enough to never be held back, but I almost didn't graduate.

What was your favorite subject in school? (lunch doesn't count)

I'll go with a headband, since trying to wear a war helmet would only result in me looking ridiculous. Plus I don't like big hats covering my head.
Would you wear a ludicrously long scarf, geeky gasses, or a bowtie? [Or a fez?]

Do you like unexpected yet awesome plot twists?
