Some animals store sperm, allowing them to impregnate themselves when it suits them, instead of it being directly tied to when they mate.

I'm not sure if that's relevant to your spider, but if they're an example of that behaviour there wouldn't need to be a male nearby anymore.

I've got no problem with killing spiders. Most of the ones in my flat are spindly light ones that don't bother me though.

Huntsman seems to be a different type of spider in America, so you might be thinking of that type. In the UK huntsman spiders are those ugly things you get in your house, with small bodies but long legs, the type that is most harmless here yet I'm most terrified of.

I was referring to the Green Huntsman Spider, which is found in the UK but not in North America.

Every dead tree in the forest surrounding my house has hundreds of these living under the bark (especially the Ironbarks)
They're supposed to be harmless to humans, but my partner got pretty Ill after rescuing one from a hot bath before she got in.

I'm gonna have nightmares after looking at these pictures

As for what made me unhappy, it was a beautiful day and I wasted most of it sleeping. I couldn't fall asleep last night so I slept all day today. F**king stupid
