A short, but unsettling dream I had this week (two days ago, I think). I was sleeping in some overgrown ruined backyard where my family was having a barbecue. This is weird enough by itself, because I am not all that fond of bovine meat and the aforementioned backyard did not look like any place I remember seeing before. A few steps away from me, there was a stone bench with a really weird and worn out wooden mannequin lying on it. It had human-looking (but a little too large) emerald green eyes, a nose and a mouth that gave it an uncanny valley appearance. When I opened my eyes, trying to wake up, it stared back. I ignored it and closed my eyes again for a few seconds. When I looked again, the mannequin was kneeling in front of me, its face just a few centimeters from my own, staring at my eyes. I got up quickly (because it was damn creepy), but the mannequin ran away and my family started telling me that it had taken my soul.

For the next few minutes, I was arguing with my family that no one had taken my soul (mainly because I do not believe in souls) while the mannequin kept watching us from a distance. I felt a strong desire to run after it for some reason, but I woke up before I could start act on it.

Last night, I dreamt that I was in the audience of QI. It was a pre-recorded special episode. I think it lasted two hours. We had a break after the first hour. I ended up wandering around for a bit. And I was in a room where Stephen Fry tripped me up. I think he did it on purpose. Then Alvin Stardust chatted me up. Even though he's dead. :? Everyone went back to our seats. To get back, we had to go in a lift. The lift stopped working for ten minutes. And when we all sat down, we all had to change places. Then we watched the second half of the episode.

I have some top-notch, first-class weird dreams. Try this on for size.

I’m outside. It’s muddy and has obviously just been raining. There’s a grand house in front of me, sandstone with pillars. The rain and mud has made the walls dirty. To the right of me there is a some damaged stonework. Looking at it I get a flash, a vision, of a black Land Rover crashing into it. It was dark and rainy, and the car's lights were on. The vision made me clutch my head and fall to my knees. I recover and stand up again.

A tall dark figure appears next to me in a long coat and asks me what I'm looking for. I know it's a young girl called Rachel who I know in the dream, but not in real life. I don't answer, but walk closer to the entrance where I had another vision, this time of Rachel. The figure next to me says “she’s still in there”. As he says that, I see a small girl run past one of the windows. As I go through the main doors into a larger area, I see her run across through another room.

I find her after a short while, and we go hand-in-hand down a long corridor, which is plain white and well lit. Odd for a classical style mansion. We get to the end and enter a small white room that contains a giant iridescent purple insectoid. It had wings but looks like a praying mantis. I see a woman behind it (a redhead I apparently have history with, and not the entirely good kind of history). She was wearing a Summer dress (bisque in colour) with an antique floral patterning. Seeing us, she zaps the insect creature into a nearby cupboard with a Taser (which she has for some reason).

After the mantis was locked in, she didn’t want us to leave and was threatening us with nunchucks (why not the Taser?). I knew we had to get past her. I then thought that Rachel could run past if I distracted her. As I was about to move, another woman burst in, hit the nunchuk wielder and shouted at hr uncocious bidy "Who's tougher now?".

And that was it. I've got more if you want to see into the strangeness of my mind.

Sorry, that's all there is of that one (alarm clocks, tsk!), but there's the below if you want another one?

I'm outside, and I'm watching a small rocket being launched at some kiind of international meeting, but it looked like it almost failed. There appeared to be minor explosisions at lift-off, but it did take off. I enter the building near where I am through white automatic doors, and climb the stairs to the top floor, looking for someone. As I climb the stairs, I pass several other floors, one appearing to be a brothel, on just filled with blackborads/chalkboards.

I get to the op floor and there's an older woman there. There's a door behind her to a conference room (containing the international personnel). I try to bribe the woman when she doesn't let me in, but that doesn't work. I hear noise from behind the door and I finally push past the woman to see the last of the room's occupants leaving via a back door. An alarm goes off, declaring "Raid Warning". That door locks behind them, so I run down the stairs I cam in by. A woman I know, let's call her Megan, stops me on one flight and asks me, obviously in panic, what's going on. I tell her to "just get out".

When I get outside and it’s sunny and warm, but I don't stop to enjoy it. I run through a plaza towards a car park (parking lot). I bump in to someone I know, but they're in a yellow t-shirt with "Security" printed on it. He tells me to go back. At this point, a man with a handgun shows up and herds is back to the plaza (he looked like the comedian/host Dara O’Briain). I look at his gun, apparently it was obvious I was thinking of taking it. He said to me "What, never seen a gun before? I will shoot you", then taunts me a bit more. I told him to put away the gun, but he doesn’t, and tell us to get down on our knees, hands up.

I look to my side and see a cluster of women in a similar situation to my own. The leader of the gunmen appears, and is referred to simply as "Headmistress". One of the women is crying, and the security guy tries to cheer her up, but the Dara-gunman hits him to shut him up. I try to make eye-contact with Megan and mouth something to her. the Headmistress sees me and says “It seems like you care about her” to which I respond “who?”. I hear gunshots behinf me so turn round to look, but see nothing.

I turn back to the Headmistress and say “I could kill you before they got to me”, but she wasn’t concerned. I jumped and got her neck in the crook of my elbow so that she was between me and the gunmen. I dragged her away, up a nearby hill, and looked down to see hundreds of people herded by gunmen. I ask her: “why do you hate them so much? What happened to you?” She reveals that the collective that are launching the rocket includes her mother, and are responsible for killing her father. She doeasn't care about the justice, only death.

At this point, futuristic fighter jets do a flyby, dropping troops on the ground. All is concluded, with somonewhat of a Disney ending with Megan.

Wow Mr. Spock, those are some crazy ass dreams! Such recall, I only get that once in while.

Coincidence, auntblabby nicknamed my cat Commander Spock Cat!

I've been dealing with a lot of stress at work lately - you know how the executive function can screw you up, especially when there are a million things going on at once and you have to remember them all? Well someone has been out for a while so I have had to deal with way more work than my usual. Somehow I've dealt with it, without too much major drama, the person was supposed to be coming back tomorrow.

All weekend I've just been so relieved. OMG, such relief.

So last night I dreamed that I was running around trying to get everything done, but I was missing a leg. It didn't matter I had to keep running on one leg (only in a dream :D ), but it was soooo hard. Then I woke up and I was like Oh I don't have to do that, it's all over. Flooded with relief. Well it turns out, the person can't get back for a few more days, so I have to prove myself all over again.

Please send good thoughts to the universe for me!

am praying for you :)
Legs
To see your legs in your dream indicate that you have regained confidence to stand up and take control again. It also implies progress and your ability to navigate through life. If your legs are weak, then you may be feeling emotionally vulnerable. To dream that your leg is broken, wounded or crippled signifies a lack of balance, autonomy, or independence in your life. You may be unable or unwilling to stand up for yourself. Perhaps you are lacking courage and refuse to make a stand. If you dream that someone in your dream has one leg, then it refers to some sort of failing relationship. If your dream that one of your leg is shorter than the other, then it suggests that there is some imbalance in some aspect of your life. You are placing more emphasis and weight on one thing, while ignoring other important aspects that need attention as well. Dreams about having one leg are a variant on this theme.

had strange dream in which I was sitting in between Julie Andrews and [the late] james garner [actors], they were both wearing the military black uniforms of naval lieutenants, we were sitting in an office with monochrome pictures of old buildings on the beige wallpapered walls, and both my arm and Julie andrews' arm were wrapped together reaching over to james garner's side of the table we were sitting at. Julie was speaking in an affected posh London accent that sounded like Margaret thatcher's dark alto as filtered through William buckley, very strange. she tried to get me to fetch her some object from the family reception center on the military post we were at, but I told her sorry I didn't know where that was at as I was unfamiliar with this place [in the dream] so one of her civilian diplomatic corps officers went and got it for her.

Julie and James, huh? And that military connection again.
I think you are trying to relive something about your past or figure something out about it in your dreams. Call me Dr. Freud! :D

:) I dunno what it's all about. the military has deep hooks in my family tree. not because I like it. because I don't especially like it. it was just something I had to go through. who knows? maybe the dream had something to do with the late garner being a lifelong pot smoker? [he was, google it]. or the manufactured purity of Julie Andrew when I real life [as opposed to reel life] she was quite fond of the ribald? sometimes people have called me "dr. feelgood."

I dreamed I woke up and shut my alarm clocks off, then I woke up and realized that I hadn't actually done it yet before they had actually gone off.
