I have been sick with allergies over the last few days and it tends to have a major impact on my sleep and how I dream - sometimes I have a dream about trying to solve some sort of problem, and I'm partially awake and can't get to sleep because of some problem, and I always have those sorts of dreams when I'm sick or if I'm up late coding (in which case the program I'm trying to write is often the subject of the dream.

That being said, I wasn't feeling well and came home early and crashed yesterday, having not slept well the night before with the type of dreaming mentioned above. What was unusual is that I remember the dream I had during that nap so well. I was at a shopping mall and I saw an Asian restaurant that apparently had been a Pizza Hut in the past (sort of like in the "Used to be a Pizza Hut" blog that documents Pizza Hut buildings converted to other uses, except it was in the mall rather than freestanding) with staff who were unhappy that I was looking around. Later in the dream (for reasons unknown) the restaurant had become a Starbucks. Things got even stranger - I was later in a department store (Sears, I think) buying a sports jacket, which I had done recently in real life, just not at Sears, and I had the ability to "fly" by swimming in the air. Somebody asked how or why I was doing it and I responded with something along the lines of "Who cares? I'm dreaming" - apparently I was aware that I was in a dream, even though I do not experience lucid dreams. I woke up shortly after that

I also recently had a dream about being back in primary school. I've had dreams like this for years - being back in school or college and having forgotten about registering for a class until the last week - as http://xkcd.com/557/ nails perfectly on the head

that is a bona-fide lucid dream, it would be good if you could build on this.

My brother was now the manager of a Burger King, and he had birds deliver the food to people's homes. There were only two birds, a crow and a bald eagle (I think).

Bird
To see birds in your dream symbolizes your goals, aspirations and hopes.
Crow
To see a crow in your dream represents death and the darker aspects of your character. The dream could also be pointing out your annoying habits. Alternatively, the crow may be conveying a message from your subconscious.
Eagles
To see an eagle in your dream symbolizes nobility, pride, fierceness, freedom, superiority, courage, and powerful intellectual ability. It also represents self-renewal and your connection with your spirituality. You will struggle fiercely and courageously to realize your highest ambitions and greatest desires.
Food
To see food in your dream represents physical and emotional nourishment and energies. Eating certain foods also refer to qualities that you need to incorporate within your own self. If you dream of eating a comfort food, then it indicates that you are looking for comfort in the wrong places. If you are dreaming of fast food it indicates insufficient attention is being paid to one's health and well-being.

I was stuck on a boat in the harbor of a town not far from where my parents live. We were just drifting around and I just wanted to get off so I could go home but couldn't because we were to far from the shore, and the constant drifting made me feel drowsy and mostly apathetic although I really wanted to get to the shore (I read that this can happen to people out at sea from the rocking, with or without seasickness, and it's like a baby being rocked to sleep, even though in this dream there was no rocking at all) . Finally I did get to shore but I had to jump from the front of the boat over some water which I probably could never do in real life, and started walking up the street. I've had this dream quite a bit. But I live on an island so maybe it's not that strange.

had another strange dream, dreamt both my parents were back as they were in their 20s, my dad awoke me up in my dream by opening my window and yelling at me to wake up, then he hired a plumber to fix an electric faucet in my bedroom and I told him the electric faucet in the bathroom also was acting up and he said he knew about that already.

my dead hamsters are haunting me now.

there was more to this particular dream but all i remember is a very skinny hamster, in the position of eating some food.

and then he went up in flames. as he was burning his fur started falling off, singing and burning...but he just sat there eating the food unaware that he was being charred to the bone. then his eyes started to melt, skin fry off and only after the worst of the combustion was done, he keeled over and fell on his back and died.

and then he was ash, and he disappeared.

Last weird dream I remember having was about work. I teamed up with my coworkers to fend off a zombie invasion but they overran the store and killed off a few of my friends. I grabbed another of my coworkers and we drove in a random truck down a muddy path when she screamed that her sister was outside. After saving her, she insisted that she stay there and fend them off and I couldn't get her to get back in the truck. So we drove off without her and her sister shoved me out of the truck and took off.

I once dreamed my sixty something year old grandmother was pregnant. (I don't remember her exact age.)

Last night, I dreamt that I was watching an episode of Neighbours and Harold was in it. He'd had some sort of memory problem and had a new identity. His accent was different, I think it was Jamaican. Also, he had got married again. I can't remember who his new wife was, though.

Here's one from in the week.

"I was working in a tax office, but there seemed to be no computers involved. My desk was next to a wall, at a 45° angle, and it was part of a three desk cluster separated by low cubicle walls for posting notes, notices etc. To my left was a filing cabinet,, to my right, more office. The office was mostly full.

I stand and tell my colleagues "I'm off out", which seems a fairly common thing, due to their reaction (or lack thereof). I take a stack of paper and leave by the window. It turns out the office was on the 10th floor or higher.

I calmly fell half of the way, then glided (aside, I feel this should be glode? But that's for another forum) in a smooth arc as I approached the ground, then flew off into the sky. I flew around for a while, delivering tax letters to people's homes. Just an average day in the life of the flying tax man.

I arrived back at the office with one letter left. It was for a colleague I didn't work with often. I thought it was good news, but it said she owed £105.04 extra. She was displeased.

But wait, there's more. She left as an older woman came in (another lesser-known work person), trailing another, younger woman. It was her daughter who was in town for a short time only. She asked for any volunteers to show her around, and I put myself forward when no one else offered."

I could write more but it was fairly mundane: a chase in to a pizza shop, a missing umbrella, alarm bells. You know, normal stuff.

A few nights ago, I had a dream that my neighborhood was blown up by aliens. 8O

I firmly believe that all is not lost.
