i believe that they can still use routemaster, just put a door where there is not a door... voils! and then put a lift!

OMG!! ! ITS DDA COMPLIANT ALREADY!! ! GET IT ON THE ROAD!

We must get it on the road! how about glass doors inside the platform, with the pole and a lift at the front? If there's a will, there's a way! They should have never gotten rid of the vintage ones.

ok about a redesigned routemaster i am all for it..

though the vintage ones should be kept on special "tourist / nostalgia" routes they should not be the main service vehicles for preservation and accessibility purposes...

i believe a redesigned routemaster like you say is a beautiful thing :D

I'm also for it. They've actually came up with the blueprints, already.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Autism Speaks will NEVER speak for me

I didn't take any bus pictures in Victoria, because the Routemasters only come out, on the weekends.

i loved the wood inside them- last night i drempt i was on one of the old wooden trains (inside the carriages- not you know- a toy!) and woke up really missing wood in modern nice.. it feels so nice- even to walk on.... and i loved taht they were so old.
i actually worked on ken's campign for mayor- as i am really pro democracy, and anti blair- i started hating ken quite soon after he was elected, and this was the worst thing he did!! !
i loved swinging round cornerse on the board, one arm round the pole- regent's st and round the corner to angel being faves, listening to really loud music.
though i was nearly run over once when i fell off...

I want to see the plans for the modified ones follow through. I also think that the originals should be put back on more routes, than they are, now.

Yeah, I don't see why *everyone* should be prevented from enjoying the old buses, just because some people can't use them.

But by modifying them, you're modernising them, which defeats the object really.

How about this. We get rid of the hybrid double deckers they have, now. Put the RMXLs on the streets and put the original RMs on the streets of London, as they are, now.

Johnson has said he wants to scrap the bendy buses and replace them with a 'modern version of a Routemaster'. This means that the old buses won't be coming back to the capital's streets en masse like you think they will.

in Manchester, there is bendy buses.

I'm more concerned about anti-social behavior on buses
