Oh, I finally realized that this:

Quote:
simply came by to say hello as well Sylkat, if you don't mind me asking I was wondering if you happen to like Edgar Allan Poe & H.P. Lovecraft?

was probably directed to a specific person (who wasn't me), rather than just being a general question. But I answered it anyway, like an idiot . Such an Aspie thing to do...

I think where I got mixed up was that I thought ProfessorX said:

"simply came by to say hello as well as Sylkat, if you don't mind me asking I was wondering if you happen to like Edgar Allan Poe & H.P. Lovecraft?"

I mentally added an extra "as" in there, which kind of changed the meaning. And now I've made myself look even weirder by making such a big deal out of it...

Perhaps slightly, but unlike in real life typing "out of turn" isn't as much of an issue I think.

Greetings to any whom pass by this thread though, I'll admit I don't have a great deal to say at least, I try to be honorable unto others..

Dear Aperture, please don't feel awkward, Lovecraft and Poe are universal topics as far as I am concerned, and anyone should express their admiration of either one or both of them at any opportunity!
In addition, I am 99% positive that HPL was an Aspie.....read the details of his life.

Dear ProfessorX, Of course I am an avid reader of both...they were both gentlemen, and both created actual genres!

Did you know that Poe was a great inspiration to Baudelaire?

Did you know that some of Crowley's work was actually ghostwritten by Lovecraft?

Sylkat

I'm new on WP...but I definitely like the concept of an unpopular member's thread. It feels subtly ironic and good at the same time...and funny thing, with over 235 pages already, it seems awfully popular. Even though the first page asks us to respond to everyone, this is technically impossible. Anyway, I'm still trying to figure the site out.

BornThisWay, take as much time as you need to become familiar with this site and the threads that make it up.. Personally some might see me as popular since I post a great d deal on other forums here on WP but, Truthfully speaking, I often feel just a face in the crowd in realistic terms since, I'm not someone whom is the pied piper of such.Anyways, feel free to explore..

ProfessorX.

Oh, Sylkat, the previous image of the young lady with the tiara as such was-
Camilla Henemark whom was once part of a eurodance group called- Army of Lovers.

I think they meant everyone at the time, not everyone who's posted over the course of a year or so - you'd be there all day!

Thanks...I was sort of feeling literal. I'm enjoying the site a lot though. I've only just recently (at the age of 61) come to realize that I am most likely on the spectrum. The more I learn, the more certain I am....I even took it up with a semi-retired psychiatrist I know (he trained with Kanner back in the 70's)...He knows me very well (in a non-professional way) , and he said," Yeah sure - good probability for Aspergers, even though DSM V is cancelling it - Especially with your test scores. But do NOT bother with a formal dx that an insurance company can see. For you it's good for insight and self understanding, but not as a disorder - you function just fine now, and if it makes you feel better knowing you're a successful member of a select group of highly intelligent individuals, enjoy!"

He also is of the opinion that the new DSM V is a bogus insurance driven rag.
