Sadly, Reform seem to be likely the biggest winners of these local elections.

I just realized you meant the Canadian Tories.

Doh. :P

Yes.

And they were absorbed by (the local) Reform Party ages ago. It's the Conservative Reform Alliance Party now, at least if truth-in-advertising laws applied.

Made it to the second round in a euchre tournament. Not as well as I'd hoped to do but not bad. Also reintroduced myself to a couple people there so it was nice to get that done with

Council seem to be showing some signs of fixing the door buzzer.

It's not that bad; I belatedly found I only needed to find one candidate (turned down being dusky skinned) but I did find a second in due course. As for the owner, having signed off on the state of the flat, she then withheld the cost of replacing a toilet (there was nothing wrong with it) from my deposit. I could have screwed her with a legal action, but couldn't be bothered, though out of work and short of cash. The old bat, on the other hand was a multi property owner, and one of the french speaking "social superiors", but considered it important to grab a few hundred schillings!

I've never understood why landlords get to hold the deposit, they are th least trustworthy category of human I've ever encounterd!

Yea, landlords suck. Hence why I try to rent off the local council.

I suppose it's against regulations to fix it yourself? "No council tenant shall improve their home, regardless of the trivial nature of the aforementioned improvement, without the Committee's informed consent in triplicate."

And yes, landlords are a notorious pain in the arse with deposits.

Excellent post, but the BBCode got garbled. To avoid reputational damage to the ToughDiamond brand, let the record show that I have never left a flat in Antwerp, or been legally obliged to find a new tenant. Sorry to be pedantic, but the trolls would have a field day otherwise.

Thinking about having gone dancing last night by myself, and going swimming this morning. Maybe I should push the boundaries of gender and expectations by becoming a solo synchronized swimmer: synchronized to the music. Sounds deceptive though. What about male swim-dancer? Or gender-inclusive swim-dance teams? Swimmy? Swammy? Swalsa? :jester:

A few foxy females hanging around outside my window this evening. A lot of them seem to wear the 'white fox' gear. :D
