might just erase that thread since now i look like an overdramatic ass

I think people who have been in your position understand the frustration and how utterly disabling it can be.

How exactly do you let someone go?
Do you send them a Separation Certificate?

You cut them off. Disconnect them from you.

When I do it it cannot be undone.

You can write a 'dear John' letter.

If they are called John.

If not you are s**t out of luck and just have to kill them and bury them under the porch.

I do like the idea of a certificate, mind. Or maybe you could send them a little card.

Amateur hour.
You dissolve them in acid, obviously.

Dear John,

I am downsizing and unfortunately this means I will have to let you go.

Have a nice day!

I was fascinated to read that water cremation is now a thing.
You can now pay to have your remains turned to sludge.
Lovely thought.

I think "happiness" is too high a goal.
I would settle for "not being horribly depressed".
Or "infrequently suicidal", at a pinch.

Can you believe some people don't have thoughts of suicide?
I'm still not convinced that it's not normal to.
I think about it literally every day, for as long as I can remember, too.

You don't have to aim for happiness to be happy. Life is very capable of surprises.

If you're not thinking of death you're not living, IMO.

Not saying that like you don't know it.

Just, the nasty surprises tend to feel less like surprises, and more like, yes, of course that would f*****g happen.
The good ones are wow, what the f**k, test this a million times before I (still don't quite) believe it.

The only euphoric episodes I've had have come after reaching a complete rock bottom.
Yay for rocky bottoms.

Me too. It would be nice to occasionally feel something besides a dull sense of unhappiness or nothing at all, but I'll settle for being able to look at veins through my skin and not wanting to slice them open.

^^
Well I've only had one.

Every good thing I've had in my life, I feel like I don't deserve it and it's there as a fluke. Impostor syndrome, goes hard until I lose it all.
