I've had a lot of weird dreams, but hands down the most worrying thing in the REM realm for me was having different versions of the same dream for weeks.

In summary: random, shady dudes chased me through dark corridors and alleys and overall funky places, and I had to fight them off. I held my ground and knocked them to the ground (I have training and taste for violence), but they would get up, bloody and wobbling, and keep going after me until I was too tired to keep fighting back :?

The worst thing was how hard it was to wake myself up, which hadn't been a problem before. A friend told me perhaps something of my waking time was worrying me enough to seep into my subconscious. He suggested confronting my persecutors as a way to deal with things, at least on my subconscious. It sounded as good an idea as any other, plus he went on about 'dream programming' and I was hooked. Thing is, I tried it. That night I turned to the creepy stalkers, pissed, and said (I remember word by word): "What the F($# do you want?? Why the hell are you chasing after me, you f"#$!ng freaks??". They laughed a mean, mindless, stoner laugh and one of them said: "To beat you until you're dead".

Yeah, my mind isn't a nice place sometimes

that was a lucid dream :wtg: but repeating dreams are generally an alarm for you to address some waking problem that has been left unattended do.

I can hardly recall most of my dreams, but for whatever reason the general theme in almost every dream I have is something about being a survivor in some dangerous or apocalyptic setting. Not really sure what to make of this :?

It's not a nightmare though that's the thing. I wouldn't call it a candy coated Zion with rocking horse people, but it ain't exactly torture either. I'd be able to understand it more if it was outright bad or good, but it's just there if that makes any sense :?

it could just be reflective of continued frustrations and stresses and unresolved mysteries of waking life. keep in mind that the dreaming mind communicates subconscious thoughts via puns.

Very interesting things to consider. I've never been one to seriously stress over much aside from a few debilitating episodes. Can only hope these puns are better than those one of my friends make for they are far worse than any nightmare I might ever have

all the mundane frustrations during the day can pile up in the subconscious [not consciously aware of them] until the night time when the brain in its housekeeping process of transferring short and medium-term memories into long-term memories, repeats and repeats these buried frustrations in different iterations until they have all been transferred into long-term memory, which is why some folks call some dreams "neural garbage." I prefer the term "neural bit dump."

Well, then I suppose I'll add lucid dreams to my little black book of hateful things

I had a dream that I was looking after three snakes that were all army green. I was playing with them and feeding them. I was also keeping them clean as well. They each had their own names as well. Roddy, Rita and Sid. I awoke in the morning and the three snakes were gone. I looked down at the floor and saw a little pea green snake that was translucent that glowed in the dark. He had Peahawk eyes instead of snake eyes. An expert was showing me how to take care of that special little snake. I fell in love with that little snake. I asked the expert what the snake's name was, and he told me "Sweet Pea". I fell in love with Sweet Pea and did all the special things that he required.

He slithered off to a different room where Austin Powers was farting around. Austin cloned himself and his other half decided to get into the hot tub with Alotta Fagina. The original Austin was playing with Sweet Pea and he had his penis enlarger pump in the other hand. I asked if I could give Sweet Pea back to me in a very nice way. He kept horsing around. He dangled Sweet Pea over his enlarger pump. Vanessa demanded Austin to give Sweet Pea back to me. He handed Sweet Pea to me and I saw one of the larger snakes from a distance. It was Sid and he had a bit of a scrape along his side. I gathered the three larger snakes that I was taking care of and my beloved Sweet Pea and made my way to the spare bedroom in the first neighbourhood that my family moved to.

Dead-eyed, filleted fish skeletons with cigarette butts stuffed in their mouths, empty Fruity Lexia casks, empty cigarette packets, plastic spoons, bloody white feathers.
I feel like my dreams are degenerating. :(

To see rubbishy stuff and odd garbage in your dream, may be a metaphor for something that is nonsensical in your waking life, your dreaming brain is trying to figure out something that doesn't make sense to you when you're awake. To dream that you are regarding garbage suggests that you are musing over old unproductive habits. Alternatively, garbage indicates that you are avoiding dealing with an unpleasant waking reality. Also, to see piles of garbage in your dream represent rejected or unwanted aspects of yourself. To see blood in your dream represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments. To see blood on feathers may refer to a loss of hope in some relationship. To see a dead fish signifies disappointment and loss of power/wealth. To see fish bones in your dream refers to old insights, thoughts or views that have already been brought to light. You have processed these ideas and are gaining knowledge from it. To notice fish eyes in your dream means that you need to gain a wider perspective on some situation. If the fish eyes are exceptionally large, then your dream is trying to draw your attention to them. It is telling you that your view on a situation may be distorted. To dream of cigarette butts may also points to issues of dependency . However if you are against smoking and have this dream, you need to analyze aspects of your waking life and what you are doing that may adversely affect your health. The dream may also be a metaphor for an addictive relationship or habit in your waking life. To see plastic spoons in your dream refers to a reciprocal relationship where you need to give and receive nourishment, but are just going through the motions.

After I watched Dark Skies I had nightmares about the aliens coming to get me. Till one of the creatures from the dark corner of my head attacked them and licked purple blood into the carpet because it tasted icky. It really didn't like the taste and was pulling funny faces because it was making him shiver it was so bad.

Yesterday I had some weird dreams. I was in a gigantic shopping mall where you could get all kinds of food. I went to buy some fish and couldn't decide what exactly to get. Eventually I decided for an entire frozen octopus (no idea what I would do with that) but for some reason I said 'tuna' instead of octopus. So I got a huge can of tuna and was too embarassed to say what I actually wanted. I can only remember some fragments after that, for example I was cleaning up my room because my mother would come to visit, and then later I was in some kind of large nature park which in the dream belonged to the family of one of my aunts. There was a garden house which I entered and in the dream I remembered playing in there with my cousins when I was young, however that never actually happened...
