Hello once more Sylkat, as I'm hoping your doing well and all? I'm okay just trying to become more entrenched with my new occupation and all.. Also, have been reading some horror basically an anthology series which, I tend to enjoy but, I also like novels as well.
What are you up to Sylkat?

Hi, Professor; Have you ever read the 'Books of Blood' by Clive Barker?
The early novels of John Saul?
'Nathanial' and 'Second Child' were very good, and the first of his that I read was 'Comes the Blind Fury'....good and scary!

Hope you are having a lovely day.....

Yes Sylkat, I've read "Books of Blood" but as yet I've not read any of Mr. Saul's works.
Currently, I'm reading The Dark: New Ghost Stories, Tor, 2003 by Ellen Datlow..
Well, in terms of movie(s) what are some of your favorites in the general sense?

The original, black and white, Claire Bloom/Julie Harris film,'The Haunting'
The Birds.
The Exorcist.
Alien(technically Science Fiction, I know, But it scared the DAYLIGHTS out of me!)
The original 'The Omen'
The Ring.
The Others.
The Grudge.
What are your favorite scary films?

Well Sylkat, the following is only a sample of scary films that I recall very well from when I first saw such films..

Phantasm
Friday the 13th(original)
The Thing(1982) remake
Invasion of the bodysnatchers(1977)
Burnt Offerings
The Hearse
Cube(yes, it tends to favor a sci-fi genre but, neverless creepy especially the conclusion)
Ghost Story(1981)
The Hand(that creeped me out since my older brother played a prank on me near the ending of that film)..

Well, that is just a sample of over 1,422 films I've seen which include horror/sci-fi genres.

I was absolutely terrified by a Peter Lorre film, 'The Beast With Five Fingers'.

I saw it on T.V. when I was about nine years old, and was sure that a disembodied hand was lurking somewhere, just waiting for me!

The Shining
Begotten- Avant/garde plus surreal horror equals nightmares.
Tetsuo: The Iron Man- Powerdrill penis. That is all. Speaking of guys named Tetsuo...
Akira- Tetsuo Shima's transformation.
Tenebre- The image of a woman's head sticking out of broken glass with a cut throat over a flight of stairs will forever been burned in my head.
End of Evangelion- I have no comment.
I refuse to watch Welcome to the Dollhouse because of the sheer, trauma-inducing depravity and darkness.
RoboCop- Murphy's sadistic torture via gunshots at the hands of Clarence and his fellow scumbags.
Death Wish and Death Wish II- The home invasions and subsequent gang rapes.
The Breakfast Club- Mostly of the fridge horror variety. Thinking about some of the implications of the adult's misdeeds and abuse can leave one sleepless.
On Deadly Ground- Hugh's unnecessarily cruel torture at the hands of Michael Caine's henchmen. We get it, Steven Seagal; they're bad guys! Jeez!
Requiem for a Dream: "Ass to ass!"

Dear Giftorcurse, you are so right; The Shining' was nerve-wracking!

If you ever get a chance to read the book, it was even worse!

You guys are talking about horror movies? U:

Wish I wasn't such a freaking wimp, lul... the last one I watched was this Thai movie called Shutter. Oh, but I have been reading a lot of creepypastas and urban legends! Those are always fun and nightmare-inducing*! C':
