This is a really generic question. What is your favourite book? Why?

As of why.... I like philosophy and history. My favourite book is either 'History of Western philosophy and it's connection.... . .... day', by Bertrand Russell or 'the Essays', by Michel de Montaigne. I like the old philosophers more than the more modern ones.

Do you know which 'philosopher' proved that there was something like air? (By pushing a 'bucket' upside down into the water, the resistance was according to him the prove.
He is also known for his four elements theory or 'roots' as he called them.
Fire, air, water and earth).

(not sure but don't think many people know the stuff)
But I ate it a couple of times. Long time ago, thou. On a cheese sandwich with a tiny amount of marmite on top of it. Suppose to be quite healthy.

Do you like to eat fish?

Have you ever built a catapult? If so, what kind?

Nope, the closest thing I've come to building a catapult is flipping the little jelly containers at Denny's.

Do you ever read until you have a headache?

gambling = sin + addictive + destroys life
i do not even buy lottery tickets. once my dad won $150 and i threw the ticket out becaue cashing the money could lead to a gambling addiction. people thought i was crazy - but gues what - i am not a gambler, alcholic, smoker, drug addict or someone who has sex without condoms. that's quite an achievement. i must be doing something right, don't you think?

No, but I downloaded the early MAD comic from the 50s recently, though I haven't read them yet.

Do you get more annoyed if movies depart from the source material, or if they stick to the source material too closely?

It seems I do not have the patience for watching movies anymore nowadays but it depends. Sometimes it's a bit rude how some (directors) screw up a book, for instance, but I guess sometimes it is simply impossible to stay all the way true to a book. I think when you love a book, the movie about it could very well be a disappointment to you. You made pictures in your mind reading it and no way the movie contains those same pictures.
But.... ~?~

What movie, according to you, is a definite 'must see'?

Same Q, what movie is a must see according to you?

I'm going to look for it and watch it. (after I found it, of course, 'cos otherwise.... :drunken: never mind)

Erm.... jeez, who came up with such a question, in the first place?

Sorry, I'm in this silly mood. :drunken: (oh, and not drunk of course, just a good silly emoticon, imo.)

'The color purple' is a movie I saw years ago but it made a big impression on me for some reason. Must see? Don't know. Ah.... maybe this one; Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.... and Spring, by Kim Ki-dŏk. It's about two Buddhist monks and there surely some life wisdom in that movie.

I've been in the sun today, sitting on a bench, writing stuff and drawing a rooster (it's true but the damn thing wouldn't stand still, so the drawing, um.... not that good)
Anyway I was in the sun for an hour or so and I'm in a very good mood but I wonder, Can vitamin D actually make one up-mooded or enhance one's mood?

plausible but not verified by me.

do you think it is plausible that cooking with iron cookware will increase iron content of hte food slightly.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I think it can but it depends on what sort of food. Some vegetables are known to react with iron. But a tiny bit of iron (Fe) isn't that harmful, I think. Large amounts can be harmful but quite a few people, without knowing, have 'sub healthy norms' in their blood anyway, I think. Same with Zinc.
