Dragnet would be proud: I'm running my own compilation of flash player in cmake from the ground up, just so Firefox Nightly will play goofy flash videos.

It's buggered though. Obsessive IT security has been to the detriment of internet fun these days methinks.

I'll probably just get them working on my phone.

Facebook just locked me out of my account and is saying I need to send a picture of myself to get back in.

That's not likely to happen. I'm not pleased with this.

From what I've been able to determine from reading other reports on this phenomenon, it's likely someone reported my account as a way of harassing me. Ironically, I have avoided facebook for years, and only set up this account three or four months ago because a field I need to be involved with is heavily represented there. So, stories that facebook is the last outpost of old East Germany seem to be true.

My housemate had photos removed from her Facebook account.
Photos of her friends she can never get back.
Someone reported them.
The reason?
She didn't personally like one of the people in the photos.

I write something, or I respond to something......but nobody responds to me.....it's like I'm invisible.

Kraftiekortie, many of your replies are your opinions in response to someone else's opinions. They're often the sort of response that people either agree with, and have nothing further to reply, or they agree to disagree. Other posts give direct advice. Maybe people don't always respond to direct advice if they don't know what to say. Or they post to the entire thread and partially address your advice.

I notice that people respond to your questions and your deeper opinions.

This exchange proves that I have chronic foot-in-mouth disease in the 2nd degree.

When you make a very wise statement there is nothing to add.
I often sit here reflecting upon what you said and think ' I wish I had said that - so eloquent '
Also, small talk is not very easy for a lot of us and this is seems to be essential for social exchanges.

This is a marvellous learning ground for us all.
