It depends a bit on the definition of luxury.... I like my dish washer and the machine that washes my clothes and such but over the years I became more and more basic. Even a bit Spartan (without the gay bit of course) or minimalistic and let go of many luxurious things. My philosophy (not original) is that having many things, do not free you more but the opposite, they tend to leash you. A car, for instance. I know it brings 'freedom' in being able to go where you like but it is also very expensive and thus taking away freedom. If one catches my drift.

Do you know which philosopher is famous for 'Cogito ergo sum'? (easy)

From Stupid Questions Answered
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Nick first answered with this:

Well to be able to tell the air speed velocity you would have to know if it was an african or a european swallow, so until that information is given i cant give you an answer.

TB faithfully answered with this:

Is it an african or european swallow? Auuuuuuuugh! Let's be original. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is almost 30 years old. The answer is cruising speed of 38 to 40 mph with a miximum speed of 48 mph. :)

Catt mumbled this:

Aha! a montey python fan...
is that a African or European Swallow?

Keith aggred with Catt:

Estimates for the maximum speed of swallows is probably 40 to 50 mph. However, the usual response to the question is: African or European?

Brandon sent us this site:

Someone that already has too much on their hands answered it here

Mr. Obvious: Unladen swallows have an airspeed velocity of about 10 meters per second. Some species, however, can achieve velocities of 15 meters per second.

The Black Knight summed it up with this:

The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow depends on many factors and parameters. For example, an African Swallow would tend to travel at a different velocity than an European Swallow. Furthermore, their flight patterns are different, so their instantaneous velocity at a given point will almost always be different. However, technological advances have given way to being able to use swallows to transport husked coconuts across large distances, enabling us to use coconuts on a daily basis, provided we have a large contingent of willing swallows ready to make a nonstop convoy for X amount of time, or however long we wish. Swallows can also be modified, as attaching a 50 newton rocket propulsion system on a 1 kg swallow will result in an acceleration of 50 m/s(2), which is of course negating any air resistance, since swallows have been recorded as outer space fliers. I hope i cleared any doubts about this matter.

Not sure but I think from half past one till eight, so approximately 6 1/2 hours. Sadly that's what I get lately. (Due to the fact what this city has done to this HFAer and me going compulsively over it, again and again. The objective conclusion is.... they are both really incompetent plus they are down low criminals. What city hall has done is ethically so goddamn wrong. No matter how you look at it, it's true).

Sorry for the rant.

Do you prefer city, suburbs, or the country.

Definately the country. But cities feels less lonely at times. And that obviously depends on the city...

I sure do. But it's not really a paradox when you know how general relativity works!

The list is quite long but what am I willing to vent here?

Um.... falling in love with a schizophrenic woman, that was quite a wild trip, still licking the wounds a bit. Even now, 1 and a 1/2 years later. But enough about that. Another one would be talking to a very incompetent and corrupt shrink. Biggest mistake ever. Paul Dingemans is his name but very soon he will notice the consequences if he doesn't make excuses. He represents all the wrong in the psychiatric business, imo.

~

Imo, those in the psychiatric bizz think it's an absolute science but I know it's not. Little empirical prove. I mean, nearing seven billion people on this earth, all unique, not a soul alike, no comparison, no proof, no repeating the same tests on one that maybe be correct in that case but questionable on an other. Blah, blah, blah, but....

What is your opinion about the psychiatric business nowadays?
