It is more of a rumble. I am still getting used to physical contact.

But thanks and a dragon hug back to ya.

You probably don't get enough of that. That's what I sense.

You have a raging fire just waiting to be expelled like a volcano.

I love this post. :)

I think my anger is more like that of a bird. I'll squawk and peck. My curiosity is like a bird's also, maybe?

Nice to see you DataB4, haven't seen you around for many days.
Have you been ok? Need a hug?

^Sure. :) I've alternated between overwhelmed, in flow, run down, and just trying to have fun. Long story short, deadlines, a flaky college student assistant, a project manager friend doing her best to save the day, loads of tech issues and too much time on the phone with tech support. I've been giving myself a lot of time to rest to make up for all that and be able to approach everything with as clear a head as possible.

I've spent quite a bit of time on the phone too but it hasn't been fun/social.

Sounds like you are doing well at protecting yourself during a chaotic spell.

Life can shower us with a lot of debris but having a tough umbrella helps.

I am still trying to find mine. I think someone stole it.

That’s true, I have to give myself credit for that, and for still moving forward. Instead of beating myself up: why am I so tired, why didn’t I predict this s**t, etc.?

You said “I am still trying to find mine. I think someone stole it.”

Then steal it back. :) Hugs.

Hello, everyone.

Just out of curiosity, what's Irlens syndrome?

It would seem that both Raleigh and I, as well a others on here, have this.

It is a sensitivity to light.
I seem to be particularly sensitive to the blue spectrum or uv light.
Supermarkets and other building with fluorescent light makes me feel awful.
It will be interesting to hear from others and their experiences.

Apparently I have it, too. I wear tinted glasses, but lately lights seem brighter and more painful. I'm not sure why.

That's interesting that you have it too. So you know the horrible feeling when it gets bad.
I try to keep the laptop screen on a very low light. Have low lights in the room too.
I think I do have times when it gets worse. Or at least feels worse.
Some of these christmas lights are horrible for me too.
I don't mind some of the coloured ones though.

How are you with the christmas lights people put up on their houses?

Beforehand Christmas lights were fine, but now they seem brighter to me for some reason, along with almost every other artificial light. I don't understand why.

We now use more eco friendly lamps which mean they are tiny fluorescent tubes instead of the old element type.
When these radiate at a very fast frequency it can affect us who are sensitive.

I have some older lamps which use more electricity but are better for reading for me.
I have one in my bedside lamp.

I also put extra covers over lamps to dampen down the light - remember to ventilate above if you ever try this.
I have a small t-shirt over one because there is a hole at the top but does the job and looks cool.

I didn't know people developed sensitivities to all wavelengths perceptually but it makes sense. If blue light is the main issue for you, there are also computer programs & mobile apps to calibrate screens away from short wavelengths at night.

https://justgetflux.com/ is really useful, I also know the functionality is built into some operating systems these days but feel free to ask me if you can't find it for something you're using.

^ Are there any filters for Queensland strength sunlight?

I have my phone on nightview all the time.
It's a duller, yellowish light.
I used to invert colours but that gets annoying changing back and forth when you do a lot of art surfing.

When I downloaded it there is a box which asks you where you are so it can adjust the light for you.
I am really pleased with it already.
