Here's a Zen tidbit that I especially like:
An old Zen master lay on his deathbed, his students crowded around him, eager for a last bit of wisdom before he passed on. The master asked one of them to get a particular, favourite kind of cake from the market, and the young man ran as fast as he could, and bought the master the cake. The old man ate the cake piece by piece, crumb by crumb, chewing slowly and deliberately. At last he finished, and it was clear that he was at the very end of his life. The students leaned forward, hoping not to miss anything.
The old master opened his eyes one last time, smiled blissfully, and said,
"This cake is delicious."
Ha ha, expectations and disappointments.
I must go to bed myself now.
I am going earlier each day to change my routine.
Thanks for the zen wisdom.
