I'd like to have a lot more energy. It feels sort of like I'm fighting quicksand. Not a perfect metaphor but it'll do I guess. Like I'd rather rest here for a while but I feel I shouldn't. I've felt some overwhelm this week but I also have a lot going for me, so I criticize myself for feeling low in the first place. Totally counterproductive to criticize feelings, I'd never criticize anyone else's, and yet the self-critical thoughts are there in my own head. If I were talking to a therapist right now, someone accepting that is, I think they would tell me I could take some time to feel the emotions bringing me down. If I keep forcing them aside to do this task or that task, I'll just keep feeling them in the background.
Any thoughts? Words of encouragement? Validation?

Maybe an adjustment to your positronic matrix would help?
LOL, nice reference. Or maybe just recalibrate the emotion chip.

But I feel for you.
Often feel the same way.
What you said was fine. Sometimes it's enough just to be understood. Thanks.

It's a lot easier to give other people compassion than yourself.
But at least you are acknowledging your critical thoughts.
Yeah, funny, or not so funny, how that works, right? Acknowledging it does help though.

You have loads on this week and are getting through it.
No wonder you are tired and low.
Hmm well, I guess I need a different perspective that'd help me roll with the punches better. But putting myself down further for having trouble taking that perspective is really unhelpful. I've got to stop doing that.

Having a break is part of self-care and helps to gain energy.
Yes, definitely. I hope that over time, I'll get better at taking breaks that are both short and effective. My goal is balance: not working long hours, but also not holding on to those tough feelings so much they sap my energy/endurance/productivity. I realize I'm not alone in that. I get so frustrated with my feelings getting in my way.

Listen to the quiet voice which doesn't criticise - the one that knows you are doing your best.
Be kind to yourself - you are worth it.
That's great advice.

I do feel better.

Every time I do something for myself, something selfish, I feel guilty for not dedicating everything I have to the good of everyone else on the planet.
Sometimes I feel like that, especially if it's something big for myself. It's ironic because I don't feel bad about doing something big for someone else.
