because things [including living things] tend to be in a more congealed state when cold. the internal temperature has to be higher before viscosity improves.

Was walking quickly to catch the light rail this morning. Half-turned around to look back at something, but kept walking. Went on a few steps that way, turned back around, and slammed my face into a utility box I'd never seen at all. Split my lip...it finally stopped bleeding six hours later.

I sold one of my antique cameras on eBay and got an excellent price for it. I shipped it USPS Priority. I've never had a problem with USPS before (honestly!). Well, of all the packages they decide to lose... this one has not been scanned in four days. Priority gets delivered in 2 days, 3 days tops. This is really bad. I'm going to have to report a lost parcel on Wednesday (the fifth day and first day eligible to file such a report) and return my customer's money. Crap crap crap. I'm out the money and the camera.

I'm still hoping this is all a delay because of the snow and that miraculously the box will get scanned before Wednesday. I don't have a lot of hope for that. This sucks.

Argh. I just spent almost an hour writing a blog post about ONE character from Gilmore Girls. (Probably my most prevalent interests.) I didn't mean to, I just mentioned the show and went off on a tangent. I thought I was getting better. Know what's gonna happen now? I'm gonna keep doing it, and keep doing it and I can't help it and...argh.

Ah! It's only two, but I'm so tired I'll have to head home from college a few hours early (or at least earlier than usual, I finished lectures an hour ago)

I sometimes get griped whenever I see how things in my workplace could be made better but, then again whom made take me serious when I've not earned tenure.? Such things just bother me well, I'll do my best to keep pressing forwards no matter what..

today was a day when i went to to the head office of a company i write software for.
i was slated to give a short introduction to the new system i wrote which about 50 people in the company will be using.

i got there about 1 hour before i had to give my presentation, and i unfortunately went to the tea room where there is a television overhead that is always on.

there were a few people in the tea room, and on the television was a report about the floods in queensland, and a reporter said "people that have been evacuated from their houses will be returning today, and they don't know what state their houses will be in".

i took that to mean that they did not know whether their houses were carried adrift by flood waters and landed in new south wales (the next state down from queensland)

and i said "goodness gracious! the media is beating it up! there has been no catastrophic flooding near the border , are they trying to say that their houses have floated hundreds of miles away or something?", and i was severely criticized and admonished. someone said "shut up mate. keep your comments to yourself huh? at a time like this, we don't need to hear what you have to say".

it was 10:35 and i could not understand why i was not allowed to speak at 10:35, and i started to become difficult, but my boss took me away from the situation thankfully because she said she had some questions about the system , and i was relieved that i was extracted from the tea room as things started to erupt.

she advised me about my misapprehensions and i understand now, but i ........i am better to stay at home or at least not go to the tea room.

what ever

I understand that Alice in Wonderland was nominated for 3 awards on the Golden Globes, but lost in all three. That sucks.

I was really upset about that last night. I sat down through almost the entire awards ceremony because I wanted to be there in case it won anything. Turned out to be a huge waste of time. How does Johnny Depp lose to Paul Giamatti anyway? :?

Oh well. Alice in Wonderland will always be a winner... in our hearts. And that's what really counts. :)
