:lmao: "Ahh, no, hush, tish and piffle".
That really cracks me up when Stephen Fry does those Robert Robinson impressions.
Phil Jupitus is brilliant!

cool, glad you're enjoying it.. i thought of dunbots when posting the 'european' episode, especially the colourful, muti-lingual introduction.

they've gotten upto & including a H series, so plenty to watch. :)

Yep, that was cool. 8) I could identify all of the languages, and all the flags on the two stands.

Languages: Danish, French, Greek, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, German, English.
Flags: Belgium, Czech Republic, European Union, Cyprus, Sweden, Greece, Lithuania, Netherlands, Romania.

So far I've watched episodes 5-9 of season 5, I'll probably start from the beginning of the series once I'm done with this season.

A couple of examples of Robert Robinson in action. (and also toe-curling examples of UK TV in the 70's)
He's not at his "tish, piffle" best but it's enough to get the flavour.

"Ask the Family"

"Call my Bluff" (including some other great eccentrics)

And finally, the masters in action:

a few little nuggets of quite interestingness..
kilts were invented by the Irish though the word 'kilt' itself is Danish.
Clan tartans were invented by the English..
& the Queen doesn't own all of the swans in england, only the mute swans..
last one should be recognisable to some ;)

The one 'official' lake is Bassenthwaite Lake.
All the others are 'meres' or 'waters'.
