I had not a nightmare but a weird one just the same, I dreamt that I was driving with somebody on some weird cloverleaf part of a freeway off-ramp, and president Obama was on the side of the road waving hello at us in a presidential manner. then I took the offramp and immediately found myself underground in some kind of bunker, where the late actor gary cooper in his role of Robert Jordan in the movie "for whom the bell tolls" was doing his part, guerilla fighters were dashing this way and that with rifles and pistols in hand, shooting this way and that. never saw who they were shooting at, though.

The whole town is flooded with a brown, bubbling liquid that looks rather like effluent. My partner and I are on a boat with another couple - a distinguished older man and his much younger female companion.

Three children run down the street, sloshing through the filthy water that comes up to their knees. As we watch them, the man remarks that this is strange because "you don't normally see kids nowadays." The children stop in front of a wall. Three ghostly images of children emerge from it. One ghost looks like it is only a painting of a little girl. I can see the brushstrokes and she's a little bit stylised. The boy ghost with glasses tells the real children that the Guardian of the Universe wants them to come with them because the Earth is too sick for children to live in. The ghosts take the children's hands and pull them through the wall. A life-sized image of the children resembling a paper cut-out is left floating rather ghoulishly on the surface of the water.

I really hope dreams never really come true because last night I dreamed I saw a big mushroom cloud. I waited to die but nothing terrible happened.

Maybe I had that dream because yesterday I read that the Russian president "suffers" from Asperger's, UGH!! People replied he's really a psychopath but I really don't know much about that. It probably brought back memories of the cold war or something.

I had two separate brief dreams.

1. I was having a soup with shellfish (I don't like shellfish) in it. When I was chewing a shellfish, there was some sand in it and it felt disgusting and that woke me up. Even after I woke up, for a few seconds I felt there was a small amount of sand in my mouth. It felt very unpleasant.

2. I was with three grown chickens and a monkey. I somehow knew the horrible fate of the chickens (to be slaughtered soon) and felt very depressed. I wondered if they were aware or scared of what was going to happen to them. Then we (three chickens, monkey, I and probably someone else) moved some cardboard boxes from an elevator. The monkey was very quick and did most of the job. Then I woke up feeling very sad.

the presence of the chickens in the dream refers to gossip in your daily environs, both outgoing and incoming. To see a monkey in your dream symbolizes deceit, insight and intuition. Those around you are working to advance their own interest. Alternatively, monkeys indicate an immature attitude, a playful nature and the mischievous side of your personality. In any case, that monkey sure wasn't monkeying around!

I went to a parade with my two best friends, Dean and Barb. My mum showed up in my dream for a couple of minutes and than she vanished. As soon as my mum disappeared, a parade of England soccer fans started marching down the street. I walked up to each fan asking where they got their jerseys and how much they cost them. I also offered to buy their jerseys off them for $30. My friends told me to be my true self from now on and buy all that British stuff, instead of hiding that part of me just to please my mum.

OMG - this dream was worth waiting for!

I'm driving the first car I ever owned - a tiny, canary yellow Toyota. I'm taking a dirt track through the bush which starts off ok but ends up turning into a series of steep, sandy hills with narrow markers at the sides I can barely sqeeze through. The track gets progressively worse and the car is too underpowered to get up the next hill, so I stop and get out. The car shrinks into a yellow Tonka Truck, just like the one I had when I was a kid. I pick it up by the tray and start walking.
I reach a clearing. There's makeshift tents set up made of old pieces of fibreboard, rusty corrugated iron sheeting and tattered canvas. I'm really thirsty by now so I ask the men sitting on the chairs outside if I can have some water. They look at me and start laughing and I get a horrible feeling that if I stay there they will do me some kind of harm, so I stumble off through the bush thinking, "I have no food, no water, no shelter, no matches, no warm clothing." In short, I have nothing necessary for survival. I think clearly, "I'm going to die."
Then I sit down on the ground and I instantly have this feeling of peace. My fears vanish and all my senses seem super sharpened. I have a feeling that I've just awakened from a dream. I can hear the ocean like it's right next to me, the swish of the wind through the She-Oaks, the songs of various birds, the sharp smell of salt, the musty scent of Paperbarks and Teatrees, the dappled sunlight on my skin, the soft leaf-litter under my legs. I see a trail of ants on the branches next to me. My eyes focus in on them like I'm using a microscope. I can see every detail of the ants - how they meet each other head on, then do a little reverse, then sidestep around each other and continue on their way. I follow their path upwards and see the trees above me are loaded with fruit. Their leaves have made a canopy over my head and drops of moisture start falling from them. I look up through the leaves and see clearly the negative spaces made by their edges against the sky. I still feel at peace when I wake.

Beautiful, beautiful dream.

This is only the second lucid dream I've had in a year. The clarity in both these dreams was breathtaking - my description doesn't really do it justice. Wish there was some way you could record them. I want a rerun!

speaking of freaked out, beware of a scary movie called "project X" [1968 version], that will give you nightmares. the plot is about manipulation of people's dreams.

I dreamt I had snot-green leeches all over my legs and arms, and when I tried to pull them off they would not pull off without a fight and much stinging and tearing of flesh. :eew:
