I don't watch TV so I miss idol. 
I have a tv but it's in the closet. My son bought it because he wanted to watch it while he was visiting last. But he (David Cook) must be good if he was an idol winner. What type of music does he sing?

You vocabulary will increase too: you never really learn to swear until you learn to drive.
Any tricky bits in the test you thought you'd failed on, or did you just shut it out and simply drive?
Both of them in the car? Far too much of an audience for me - I felt bad enough with the examiner, who (a) I'd never seen before, (b) looked like a stereotypical parade instructor from the army and (c) my instructor muttered "Oh no, not him" as I was left to his mercies for the test. At least I'd got used to seeing the instructor around and had eventually cracked his strong accent.Nice job though, and it's much easier when someone isn't sitting there watching what you're doing.
Stoke is suddenly so much easier to get to!
If you've not tried it yet, go on a motorway as soon as possible and get some practice in.
For some reason when they asked me if I wanted my instructor there I just blurted out "Yes". I assumed it would be a bit of an insult to him for him not to be there - it was only afterwards that he told me he hated going along on the test and he always tells people not to invite him, but that he forgot to tell me. And it was only the second test he had witnessed in 17 years.
Luckily for me my examiner had a very clear voice with little accent at all, otherwise I'd have been in some serious doo doo.
As for getting to Stoke, I'm sticking with the trains. It's really no hassle and I get to just bury my head in a book and listen to my Ipod, and it works out still about as cheap I think. I quite like the journeys up there.
I'm also thinking about doing the 'Pass Plus' scheme. Just to get the 20% discount on my insurance.
