Furious at the cosmetic appearance of some dental work I recently had done. I should have gone private. :x

I'm having a Scopophobia Attack, a Mutism Attack, and an Empathy Attack at the same time.
It should be a very productive day considering all I need to do.

Does anyone else hide away from the doors / windows when deliveries arrive?

How about peeking out behind the curtain to see if the coast is clear, before doing anything?

Just how mental am I?

does the average person just open the door before they get there to awkwardly accept the package???

I don't think so.

I'm talking about deliveries where they don't ring the bell.
They bring my groceries to the door and walk away - which is the way I like it.
I hide so they won't see me watching.
I would never open the door to say "Thank You", or start bringing things inside.

My pizza company used to deliver this way during Covid (three years).
They'd just leave the pizza and walk away without contact or doorbells.
It was great.

Now they not only ring the doorbell, you have to pay at the door instead of online.

I've stopped getting pizza as a result.

----

My second comment about the curtains was because of my neighbours.
The lady across the street is often outside.

I have to peek out the corner of every window in the house to make sure she's not there.
Heaven forbid I have to make small talk or even smile and wave.
I even cringe if I see her when I'm in my car.

My gate is half a kilometre from my front door so I'm safe.

Yes, they're also institutionalized virtue signalling.

We can't buy turkeys that don't have "butter" (artificial oil) squirted into them.

What the hell is wrong with the world?

^Can you not buy a fresh turkey from a farm or something?

You can't in the UK, incidentally, not outside of about a 2-week window around Christmas. Hardly anyone eats it at any other time of the year.
