Your body does the repair and healing work when asleep.
I am wondering if this is a case of all the energy going into healing and rest.
Sometimes the body is far wiser than our thoughts.

You could be right.
And as for the body being wiser than our thoughts you are spot on. My body will always tell me when it can't do something or is struggling while my mind will bully me into keep going.

It would be nice to be able to have a mind holiday or thought pause remote.
I know meditation is good at helping with this but a device would be better.

death is nothing.
I atleast won't have unfulfilled dreams anymore. Death will cure my suffering.
Mark how about you go watch a new episode of Evangalion.
And how is the mindfulness going - have you given it a try yet?
There is a thread on meditation which covers this and people who have mastered it.
Buddhist say that life is suffering - this is unavoidable.
Mindfulness will help you eventually but there is work to it.
A certain user has ruined Buddhism for me. Just like how certain people ruined Christianity for me, this person has done the same. I don't want to share a belief system with someone who attacked me.
I really don't think there is an answer for my suffering except to just put a gun to my head and blast my brains out of my skull.

Does your internal dialogue ever shut up?
Mine doesn't , I wonder if that's an ASD thing , an anxiety thing , OCD thing or a personality thing ?

If your belief system can be ruined by someone with the same belief system attacking you then it may not be the right system for you. Then again it could be a loss of faith thing and you just need to regain it.
There is always an answer to suffering but you just need to find it - which is difficult.

I was speaking more along the lines of going into another belief system rather already being a part of it. The user calls himself a Zen Buddhist but he attacked me for not walking in lockstep with him and accused me of being a misogynist/sexist.
I lost my faith in God a long time ago. I became distraught with how He wasn't revealing His "plan" others said He had for me and the rednecks who think I am "weird" or "queer" call themselves Christians.

That person sounds much like someone who thinks they know everything about a belief and shuns anyone else because they see it as blasphemy to an idea or way of life. Happens to me all the time. It happens in many if not all beliefs systems. I wouldn't worry to much about it. just belief what you want to believe and don't let others tell you otherwise, even if they are of the "same" faith. That tends to lead into manipulation.
Most religion and spirituality is something more personal with yourself whether it's to improve your own well-being or a connection you have with another entity. Not something you go off from what those on their high horse say about it. Isn't Buddhism about doing good for yourself and others to one day become "Buddha" yourself? If that's the case then I don't see why you need to listen to someone tell you what is and what's not correct.

If that person ruined Buddhism (or any religion) for you then that person is not Buddhist. That’s not at all what Buddhism is about. Also, I agree with not listening to anyone that does try to tell you that you’re wrong. If you’re looking for something similar to Buddhism, you can try Taoism. It’s basically a more active form but similar concept. Live one day at a time and go with the flow.

It is anxiety, but ADHD does not help at all..

all religions have less-than-perfect adherents (cuz we're just human, after all). don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

My mind often makes me suffer unnecessarily.
Thoughts are thoughts, not real.
Yet I can think myself into hell if I don't challenge myself.

It's what you make it.

I think one of the problems is that thoughts can feel very real thus causing havoc.
When thoughts become real feelings and grip us, this is when they become scary.
I remember how scared I used to be of the dark - I overcame this and other stuff.
It helps me to remember I can overcome just about anything - I can solve my problems.
It is useful to keep this in mind. All the other thoughts can p;ss off.
