It's just highly unusual, that's all.

Sounds a little like narcolepsy but I always catastrophise , it's probably nowt

Your body does the repair and healing work when asleep.
I am wondering if this is a case of all the energy going into healing and rest.
Sometimes the body is far wiser than our thoughts.

You could be right.

And as for the body being wiser than our thoughts you are spot on. My body will always tell me when it can't do something or is struggling while my mind will bully me into keep going.

It would be nice to be able to have a mind holiday or thought pause remote.
I know meditation is good at helping with this but a device would be better. :)

Does your internal dialogue ever shut up?

Mine doesn't , I wonder if that's an ASD thing , an anxiety thing , OCD thing or a personality thing ?

My internal dialogue is pretty chatty at best.
I don't know how it became so active - perhaps because the rest of me isn't so.
Not sure if it is an ASD thing or what. I know we are pretty cognitive and detail oriented.
I am still reading one of Tony Attwood's books and it has plenty to say about all sorts of traits.

I definitely get tired by it all. I also have to nap during the day otherwise I would just drop on the spot.

I'm back early, thanks to freezing rain warnings.

Did the coastal track this morning, around 20 k's.
Partner almost came off on one of the turns, then got attacked by a duck, which was so hilarious I almost come off too.
Stopped for coffee at the 10.4 mark, then I got attacked by the same duck on the way back, which wasn't so hilarious.
That was one cranky duck.
Then we had breakfast, okonomi and pineapple slices.
After that we watched the beamies go up and down for a while and looked out for dolphins, but there aren't any today.
Then we sat and watched a huge cargo ship come into the port.
Then came home and unpacked.
And that's an account of my day so far.

Marknis, I wasn't suggesting you become a Buddhist but pointed out that they say life is suffering. I asked about the mindfulness as you said a few weeks ago you would give it a go as it was advised by a professional. Mindfulness need not be a full blown belief system. Mindfulness based cognitive therapy is quite popular at present because of the quick results and ease of translating results into research data. Mindfulness can be so many different things. It is a way to help you move forward - if you are open to that.

But is it even possible for me to move forward? I fear that I can't because I missed out so much in my developmental years and high school. My mind keeps telling me that my life is fixed.

Forward is the only way you can go really.
There isn't any other way, because the past no longer exists, except for in human memory.
Your mind keeps telling you that you can't do B because you haven't done A, then why don't you do C?
Life was meant to be manipulated.
