Studies of dreams have found that about three quarters of dream content or emotions are negative.

The rooftop of the Police Station in the film Blade Runner was a prop that was also used as part of the mothership in the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

It was mentioned in a 'making of' documentary called Dangerous Days. It came with my copy of the film as part of a two part special edition, very interesting viewing.

LOVE this!! One of my regular YouTube favourites!

Anywayssss, here's some facts about climbing.

Czech climber Martin Tlusty survived a terrifying 1000 ft (305 m) fall down the side of a mountain in Slovakia in 2005.

Frenchman Christian Taillefer cycled down a glacier at 132 mph in Vars, France, in 1998.

Swiss authorities wrap some mountain glaciers with aluminium foil in the summertime to stop them from melting.

When Mount St. Helens in Washington State, the highest peak in the U.S.A, erupted in 1980, the avalanche on the north slope reached speeds of 250 mph.

QI Fact of the Day

Lenin was from a close-knit, happy family, the third of six children of highly educated, cultured parents. His mother was a German doctor's daughter and his father was an Inspector of Schools.

QI Quote of the Day

"You can do anything with children if you will only play with them."
GERMAN PROVERB

Also, you can still find ash on the sides of the highway in eastern Washington from this eruption.

Really? after all this time? 8O That is interesting!

Those of a nervous disposition might like to keep an eye on Mount St. Helens - they have a webcam set up for it:

(although there's not much to see at the moment)

was checking out volcanoes, saw a great 'before & after' picture of st. helens, 2 years after actually but anyways.
The last full-scale eruption of the Yellowstone Supervolcano, the Lava Creek eruption which happened nearly 640,000 years ago, ejected approximately 240 cubic miles (1,000 km3) of rock and dust into the sky.
The Island Park Caldera supereruption (2.1 million years ago), which produced the Huckleberry Ridge Tuff, was the largest and produced 2,500 times as much ash as the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption.

on a side note i've toured pompeii & stood atop vesuvius, took a rock back home from the top too but i think it's lost now :(

would've posted this earlier but got distracted by mountains & Fudo
trying to find Fudozaka atm. :)
