Hi Gracey. :D Just keep posting, it takes a while to get to know people.

You will soon find who is regularly in the same threads as you, and who shares your interests, and then you will probably find that people start responding more to you.

I'm talking about outside of here.

Well yes, a lot of posts do go unanswered elsewhere. Not to say that nobody reads it but it isn't that encouraging to see something you say go seemingly ignored
Keep posting and you'll get responses sooner or later

Also, be aware that some forums (such as Adolescent) don't receive a high rate of posting, so it might take a few days for responses to appear to your post.

Keep posting; replies will come. :D

Huh, that's really odd. How did he respond to the rest? Via mail?

Via PM I'm pretty sure, as I saw on the thread that someone else had heard from him. I don't think many, if any, showed up to the meet in the end though. Have you ever been to an online meetup?

You can always try posting at the "PM a WP member you've not PMed before" thread if you want to have a conversation with another WPer. Joining the WP chat room could also help. I have never been there myself but I'm sure there are people there that like making conversations.

I guess I could. I think it's mainly that I always call out for local people instead. Some of my best internet friendships have been with people abroad though, including one I'm going to visit in August. :D

Why do you feel unpopular on here?
I don't feel very unpopular anymore. Originally I posted here because I didn't really have anyone to PM with. Since that post a few very nice people actually send me a PM and we're still sending messages back and forth. :D It is still however quite hard for me to go around here. Biggest reasons being that I'm Dutch (language and cultural differences) and that I'm not very smart unlike most other people here. I also have a mild form of dyslexia which makes it even harder. Thank god for spelling checker! It corrects me occasionally. :P

Your English looks good to me! But yes, spellcheckers help an awful lot. ;)

So what brought you to WP?

It's been lovely talking to you! :D

Well, if smudge or anyone else may be interested, I might be visiting London in June

Yep, likely. But I need an outlet. Better to be socially inappropriate on the internet than at work.

Likely what, unpopular?

I believe I have met up with seven members from this forum so far, past and present, and others elsewhere. It's a bit scary just before it happens especially if you don't know the person too well, but yeah I've done it

Once. I met up with a few other dutch people from a game called "Guild wars". It's how my sister met her boyfriend 7 years ago. :P Have you ever been to any online meetups?

Well, you're lucky that you live in the UK, there seems to be quite a few people from the UK on WP. As for dutchies on WP, I've seen 2 so far, maybe 3 but I'm not sure if the user is french or dutch. Never met any, I'm still somewhat new anyway. Safe travels in August!

What brought me to WP? It's a long story but shortly put: I wasn't aware I had any kind of autism until 2009 when I found a Wikipedia article about Aspergers. Some of the things listed there sounded very familiar of the ways I acted. I found a link there to WP and kept lurking on the forums for a long while. After 3 years of not being able to tell anyone in real life or online about my autism due to fear of rejection/disbelief my patience eventually ran out and decided to register here, a place where I can talk openly about it. It was a nice relief when I registered and posted! :)

What brought you to WP?

Thanks for the reply! :D

Being a very new member can be overwhelming, as I've already seen many threads I'd like to participate in and don't know the first place to start. This one caught my eye and already has me feeling more comfortable and excited about my stay here than I had been previously. I want to be a member of the unpopular club!

I'll only address posters from last ~10 days. Others are a bit too old and they'd been addressed and been communicating with one another.

Hello fMR1! Thanks for some other threads that you started in Random! What is that "I like trains" pic?

Hi Raymond_Fawkes! How's it going?

Hello Nymeria8! Welcome back! You didn't miss much.

Hi Selphylis! Welcome! I'm glad that you are feeling comfortable. Although I'm not happy about certain things here, most people here are nice. I hope you will stay and post a lot in this subforum (Random Discussion), where many threads are rather for fun.

I wonder how Ten and Andras are doing. And hi to all the older posters in this thread!

Right here jk, not seen Andras though
Selphylis, my posting started slowly too, though that was due to anxiety. I'd have been less anxious if this thread was here when I started
