Well yes, a lot of posts do go unanswered elsewhere. Not to say that nobody reads it but it isn't that encouraging to see something you say go seemingly ignored
Keep posting and you'll get responses sooner or later

Also, be aware that some forums (such as Adolescent) don't receive a high rate of posting, so it might take a few days for responses to appear to your post.

I guess I could. I think it's mainly that I always call out for local people instead. Some of my best internet friendships have been with people abroad though, including one I'm going to visit in August.

I believe I have met up with seven members from this forum so far, past and present, and others elsewhere. It's a bit scary just before it happens especially if you don't know the person too well, but yeah I've done it

Once. I met up with a few other dutch people from a game called "Guild wars". It's how my sister met her boyfriend 7 years ago. Have you ever been to any online meetups?

Well, you're lucky that you live in the UK, there seems to be quite a few people from the UK on WP. As for dutchies on WP, I've seen 2 so far, maybe 3 but I'm not sure if the user is french or dutch. Never met any, I'm still somewhat new anyway. Safe travels in August!

What brought me to WP? It's a long story but shortly put: I wasn't aware I had any kind of autism until 2009 when I found a Wikipedia article about Aspergers. Some of the things listed there sounded very familiar of the ways I acted. I found a link there to WP and kept lurking on the forums for a long while. After 3 years of not being able to tell anyone in real life or online about my autism due to fear of rejection/disbelief my patience eventually ran out and decided to register here, a place where I can talk openly about it. It was a nice relief when I registered and posted!

Being a very new member can be overwhelming, as I've already seen many threads I'd like to participate in and don't know the first place to start. This one caught my eye and already has me feeling more comfortable and excited about my stay here than I had been previously. I want to be a member of the unpopular club!

I'll only address posters from last ~10 days. Others are a bit too old and they'd been addressed and been communicating with one another.
