But it's worth it.
I have some Colby left over from holidays.
What's your favourite cheese?
Can there be a favourite?
I haven't met a cheese I didn't like.
Except, perhaps, that sweet apricot cheese they have on platters sometimes.

Yeah I must admit the fruit cheeses are not really my cup of tea either.
Oh I like most cheese.
The softer ones like brie or camembert are nice to just be indulgent.
I usually have grated cheddar in the fridge because it is so versatile.
Fresh parmesan is a must with Italian food.
I don't mind the smelly ones either or mouldy ones.
I got into halloumi when I was in Cyprus. Just delicious fried or grilled.

^ I had a grilled halloumi salad the other night.
It had halloumi, prosciutto, rocket, pear and toasted walnuts with a balsamic glaze.
The flavours went together really well.

Then I had a tiramisu sundae.

And a glass of merlot that was 2.1 standard drinks.

I was very naughty.

YOLO.

It is common knowledge that wine in moderation is good for you.
Think of it as medicinal.

The pudding was good for your psyche.

^ Yep, and you never know when it'll be your last meal, so always go with the best.

As well as cheese I also like peas.

Try this:

One of my favourites.

^ Is that a real thing?

I try not to eat peas.
They contain lectins, which cause inflammation.

I'm not supposed to have grains, dairy, sugar, caffeine or alcohol either.
So, yeah, that meal the other night was a no-no.
Cheese is also supposed to be off the agenda.

That was a sketch from a comedy program called 'The Fast Show' which was popular here some years ago.

It must be tough finding foods which you are allowed to eat and enjoy them.

Fortunately, I also love the foods I can eat.
And I can have some inflammatory foods as long as I balance it out with others, so it's not really bad.
It's hardest when I go out to eat, so I tend to say the hell with it and fall off the wagon completely.
Then take some turmeric and ginger when I get home.

I am quite a fan of garlic.
Spring onions are supposed to be good for you.

I went through a phase of drinking redbush tea - I just drink decaf tea now.

I am trying to eat healthy but filling foods so I don't snack or overeat.
Not easy for a foodie.

^ oh, god, I love food too.

Garlic has been proven to cross the blood-brain barrier and kill cancer cells.

Do you eat much fat?

I do eat fat and I try to make it the healthy kind but of course I also like cheese and eat it in moderation at present.

I have been avoiding buttering my wholemeal toast as I can live without it and have an extra slice instead.

I'd throw away the toast and eat the butter. :P

Around half my diet is fat/fatty foods.
Then vegetables.
Then protein.

It's ketogenic.

I had oily sardines with a jacket spud tonight.

My appetite for fats has gone down since I got vertigo.
It is coming back slowly as the dizziness improves.

Ketogenic diets are very trendy now for weight loss.
I do it for alternate reasons.
Such as not having seizures.
Always a good thing. :P

Yep, oily fish are great.
And fat bombs, nuts, avocados, olive oil, coconut, hemp, linseeds, etc.
Potatoes are out, unfortunately.
