it's been over 30 days. Medical Financial Assistance was supposed to get back to me and hasn't done so, s**t.

worried about $$$. destroyed my occupational prospects, s**t. can't even be a k-12 schoolteacher. undergrad gpa too f*****g low.

We did. This means we're third seed and face the second seed team in the semis. If we lost we'd have to face the first seed team for the semis.

I signed up for the summer league too, they're expecting to have 6 teams instead of just 4.

Are you looking forward to having some time off in-between?

At a comic con recently, someone at a kiosk approached me about joining a local roller derby team. I find the idea both hilarious and somewhat appealing. Hmmm... I'd probably be curled up in the fetal position behind the bleachers somewhere within the first 5 minutes. :lol: Maybe I'll think about it next year. I do love to roller skate.

I think it's only a few (like 2) weeks off. :lol:

You should try it. It's kinda empowering to have a context where hitting people is kosher.

Yeah, I was thinking about trying it from an empowerment standpoint. I could really use something like that. :ninja:

Also, they felt like my people in a way. It was sort of strange... Still, it'll take me a while to prepare, physically, financially, and logistically, but having a goal in mind could be helpful.

Definitely. I missed out on sign-ups last summer, spent a few months getting in shape and trying to improve a bit and I think it made a big difference when I did finally get to start.

I find the idea of try-outs stressful, not that the standards would be particularly high. I imagine that taking a benzo in advance would be a bad idea. :lol:

I feel like roller-derby is about as welcoming as organized sports get, so I wouldn't stress trying out too much. They mostly just need to figure out what task to assign you, based on the skills you have.
