Raleigh: Boo does that sometimes when she tries to open doors.

I have a corsa c.

(Nice one Mr Ferris, a close similarity.)

Quote:
the corsa suffers from streatched bonnet cables.

try having somebody push down on thr front of the bonnet whilst you pull the catch, this realeses strain on the bonnet catch/cable and will often allow you to open it.

This was why I was jumping on it today.
I stopped a nice lady in the street to hold the lever open under the dash whilst I tried to push down - then I got frustrated and took runs at it sideways to bounce my bottom off it.

That's the extent of my car knowledge sorry, unless you would like instructions on how to empty the ashtray

My GF who has more car knowledge than me said if the bonnet opens slightly try inserting something to release the catch ( wooden spoon) , if you can get a spoon in , push the bonnet down and shove it right in ?

You could always cut a hole in the bonnet with an angle grinder.
That's what the bogans around here would do.

Thanks for trying Mr Ferris and thank your good lady there too.
It really is a pig to get to and all covered etc.

I will either have to do it the Aussie way or get a mechanic to take on the frustration instead.

I would get the mechanic, if I were you.

I haven't seen you in a couple of days.

I have been trying to get things done around here but as you can see things don't always go my way.

There is no rush to get anything resolved.

How are you Mr Kraftie?

I'm all right.

I might have to shovel Sunday morning. We are expected to get about 15-20 cm of snow. It went up to about 15 today, and it went up to about 16 yesterday. It's expected to be minus 2 tonight, and maybe plus 4 tomorrow.

Next week, there will be a day when it might make it to close to 20. Weird weather here!

Yeah me too , I'm hardly in a position to offer advice to someone whose suffering. I'm quite scared about replying to people about sensitive topics in case I put my foot in my mouth and make things worse.
