That's nothing, you've clearly never been on TV Tropes or Cracked :P
Nope, I've never been. Do they have psychology stuff?

Yup. Cracked certainly does, they do very interesting (and humorous) articles on many psychology related subjects.

The picture is only funny if you play Angry Birds, which I'm guessing you don't :P

Okay thank you Asp-Z, no, I don't play Angry Birds and this is the first time I've heard of it. I'll have to go check Cracked out.

I want to bring my entire table outside of my home, onto the verandah and work literally outside.

I hope you're not getting sick Rabbitears. I guess it's that time of year, or so they say. :(

Basically, MONKEY has started a new job, which I'm happy about as it means she can have new experiences and make new friends, earn a bit of money etc. but at the same time I am going to miss her loads, and we work very different hours which means we won't be able to chat during the evenings now. And today she couldn't phone me at work like she usually does, so I just spent my lunchbreak hidden away in the back of a truck staring at a crane feeling like a fool because everyone else was just having fun during their break and I just sat there contemplating joining them but not wanting the hassle. And the one person who I get on well with at work is expecting a baby with his partner any minute as his partner is overdue, and therefore could leave at any minute without notice and stay away for two weeks. I just find this uncertainty very stressful, so I'm always on edge and constantly trying to fight off a panic attack. And when he goes on paternity leave I'm going to be so stuck and lost and I know it's inevitable and there is nothing I can do about it and that just makes it all so much worse. I just feel like the balance is all out at the moment.

Thanks for your concern.

ah don't worry, change is stressful and a lot of people don't react well to it (myself included), that's all. things will settle down and you'll soon get used to things and get into a new routine. and the same goes for monkey- she's doing something new so i'm sure once things settle for her too the both of you will relax & be able to work something out together, regarding the chatting etc. IT can also be a bit scary when a partner starts something new like a job, because you worry that they'll change somehow or perhaps not need you so much or something. even though you're happy for her that might be niggling at the back of your mind?

As for the work friend, two weeks really isn't that long, it'll fly by(: Lucky for you men don't take as much maternity leave as women lol

congrats to monkey on the job if you're reading btw!

I think the reason why I'm so worried is because we practically live together now. We usually have a a couple of weeks at a time together, with just a couple of days between visits, and having five days without seeing eachother and only about an hour's contact will be too strange for me to cope with. I just don't know what to do on my own, and when I'm left alone for too long I also get very contemplative and I end up getting very paranoid feelings (MONKEY knows all about this), but I can't stop. I'm not paranoid at the moment but I know it will happen before long.

And 2 weeks completely alone at work will really take it's toll on me. Even worse, I might be paired up with a certain guy who treats me like crap and I will probably end up going loony.

I'm not sure if MONKEY's online at the moment. She said she finished work at 5pm today as it's her first day, but I haven't heard from her yet. Anyway, I will congratulate her for you when I get the chance. It will mean a lot to her, thanks.

so that's why you're on wp more again

have you thought about moving closer together/in together? Maybe if you're working opposite hours, you could each leave each other messages when you are free and the other's at work- voice messages/emails/videos, so the communication will still be sorta there and you'll have something to look forward to. I'm sure you'll work something out(:

&thankyou :D

We simply don't have the money or organisation for this yet. I would love to in the near future though. I also forgot to mention that her job is a four week long temporary position, so I suppose it isn't all that drastic. It still scares me though.
