Well, I wished for inspiration, and I got it: my mum had another crying fit today, this time over something that fell on the floor and startled her.

I've figured out the characters of Book IV as a result: Noleta is the part of me who can only stand and watch, Neoma is the one who tries to heal, Anelaten is all of the good parts of me, Lucerney is the part of me who keeps shining brightly, Ylone is the little me I used to be, when I was younger, Lian-Lien is the small, fragile child I once was, Taohwa is the 'Zen' part of me, and Kayja is the me who went through university.
