Maybe Kip can help me - I've trapped myself in the 'Build Your Own' BMW & Audi pages having finished a day's paperwork.

Tried practicing on my guitar again. I've "played" since 2002 but can only play a handful of songs all the way through and even those ones took years to learn. There are some songs I wish I could play but I can't get them down no matter how many times I try playing along to the tabs. I can get certain parts but playing them all together as a whole just doesn't work and when I look at the clock, the day is gone. I just struggle for nothing. :(

i play guitar, too. i used to play and lead singing at a summer camp. i, too, hit a wall. i tried to learn classical guitar, but didn't have the necessary manual dexterity. i didn't improve with practice, so gave up. wasn't a total loss. i wrote, played and sang a song for my wedding (at 52).

I've never even written my own songs. My creativity energy is just so low to the point it's like a candle that gets blown out as soon as it is lit. This also applies to drawing and writing. It's another reason why I am depressed as well. I feel like I should atleast have a handful of my own songs considering how long I've been trying but I can barely come up with a chord progression. :(

I used to have a dream about playing in a band but that dream died. I might as well follow it with my own death.

I tend to think I've had depression all my life. Even before my current spell that's lasted for 12 years now, I would feel sad and alone in the world throughout my developmental years.
I would often just be sedentary and stuck in my thoughts as I am now as an adult. My past has defined my future and I can't change it no matter what I do.

Do you practice regularly or just when you feel like it? Have you learned scales and things of that nature? What kinds of songs do you try to play unsuccessfully and what in particular do you struggle with in those songs?

Hello Kazans,
I hope your new abode is still giving you pleasure and relaxation.
You are getting closer to having your own PC everyday. :D
